Just watched The Weather Network and they're saying Mont-Tremblant is going to snow Sunday and close to 5 cm. High 1 and low - 7 degrees. So for those of you are driving up on Sunday, just be careful. As for Saturday is going to be sunny, high 3 and low - 3 degrees.

Do you think the bad cold weather will affect our track day on Monday? I hope everything remains as planned regardless of the weather.

Day 1 Mount Tremlant
A big thank you to MB Canada and AMG for putting on such a well organized and professional event. Right from the get go....accommodation, food, great instruction and ....the cars!!!
The COLD was not an issue. The M186 loves cold air and once the tires came up to temp all was good. Lots of seat time in each car as they rotate you through the fleet. The SLS is amazing but on the practical side I am partial to the C63. Make sure you get a hot lap at the end with 4 people in the C. What a blast!
Hats off to Danny, Melanie (Taxi driver), Patrick (Thanks for the hot lap in the SLS), Mark, Jerry, Pierre and Jo-Anne for an amazing day. A special hats off to Melanie!! Mel was quick to find my short comings (too many to share...LOL) and even quicker in helping to me correct them. Especially my right hand death grip on the steering wheel. Thanks!!
All in all a fantastic time. I look forward to the next one...

That was awesome. Just got back into Montreal. I only stopped by for about an hour, and watched a few rounds. I ended up speaking with a few of the organizers, and they were all very helpful and respectful (especially Mark and Joanne). In fact, they allowed me to jump in the SLS passenger seat for a lap! It was awesome.
The one issue with this event, is now I know two things:
1) I thought that I would be a good enough driver to jump onto a track and drive quickly. One lap in the passenger seat shows that I am not!
2) I now have to save money for tires and brakes for next season.

Thanks for sharing your experience guys... looks like it will be a lot of fun.
Muskoka, I think being a passenger is not the same as a driver, I heard you could get nausea if you ride during the hot laps with the instructor... it's crazy fast 'cuz they are experienced... hehehe! Plus, I think in the morning session, the instructors are teaching how to turn & brake & such.

Just finished my driving day at Mont-Tremblant. I met some great AMG enthusiasts and wonderful instructors, and I learned great tips from you guys. Thank you JoAnne for setting this event. Danny and the crew, thanks for the blast! The helicopter ride seem a bit slow but we were going over 240 km/h. Took home some great AMG amenities. It was great chatting with you, Callmiro, we sure had fun tailgating each other.
That SLS is too easy on the turn, 5 star car!

I wish you could've kept up with me when i was in the lead car, so i could see your skills
The SLS was incredible....rock solid in the corners and super sharp all over with crazy top end and shotgun shifts....Black with the red interior looks killer!!!
Best cars on the track for me were:
1. SLS
2. C63
3. E63 (way better than i thought / great interior with leather dash and alacantera roof liner / incredible in the corner - super-stable / i think this might be my next car after the C63)
4. S63 (i loved that monster!!!)
i dont think they liked my 200 foot burnout in the SLS, out of the pits.....
Made it back from Tremblant in 4 hours 20 minutes (630 kms)...thank you Beltronics

callmiro, I saw you flying by the opposite way on Sunday night as I was driving to Tremblant. I recognized your car from your front grill. :P

Thanks Danny, Johanne & the crew for such a well organized event. The rain was a great challenge, but it was a lot of fun. The ContiSport are amazing in the wet.
Too bad the Eurocopter ride was cancelled... but Melanie hot laps in the C63 made up for it... hehehe!

In the AMG goodies they gave us... can someone tell me how to use the memory stick that says AMG performance tour? I'm pretty sure it's the pics they took during the event... but I can't seems to know how to insert it in my laptop. Sorry I'm a computer dummies.

Once again another success, it was awesome, met some new people and AMG lovers....it was raining but we still carried some crazy speed, it really polished up my driver skills. Thanks to the AMG Performance Tour group,. it is always a pleasure...now I am stuck with justifiying the SLS as the next car in my life, I never expected it to be that good, that is truly a supercar, exotic, wow.

^^ ... hahaha! It wasn't me 'cuz I was driving my brother in law SUV.
North 44, thanks for the tip, I figured it out already.
1st amg, I agree with you... driving at high speed in the rain really makes me feel like a professional... hehehe! But gotta give credit to the cars strong built & great tires.

Those Contis are not bad. I'm considering those over my OEM Pirellis. Did you guys try the Fillet Mignon at the dinner? I never had a steak that tender...delicious! Also, the chocolate lava...mmmmm. I had 4 2-shots gin and tonic, and the waiter kept pouring red wine for me throughout the night.

My brother in law got the fillet mignon, he did liked it. I ordered the shrimp/scallop, it wasn't very good. I'm sold on the Conti-Sport, I will get them for my 19inch rims for my next set.

I blew by what looked like a white C63 with wheels and a blacked out grill about an hour south on Mont Tremblant...totally thought it was you going up

Hope you guys don't mind if I share few pics taken with my camera. :P
Participant's SL65 BS
Arrival at the track
ML63 (love it, handles like a sport car)
CLS63
S63 (also impressed by the handling vs size of the car)
SLK63 (disappointed, ESP came on several time... the car is so light)
C63 (what a beast... well balanced overall)
E63 (probably my next choice after the C63, considering my budget)
SLS (a real monsterrrrrrrr)
Random pics on the track:
Ready for lift-off... hehehe!

Looked like a fun event! After blowing thousands of dollars on brakes and tires on hot days this year, I guess I like rain if it's on a big track!

The real downer is the CLS 63, it didn't handle well around the corners and there's not really much space between your helmet and the ceiling. I liked the SLK 55 - its really a go cart. I'm sure SLK 63 will be much much better. Callmiro really liked the S 63 AMG, its a heavy car and challenging around the corner. E63 AMG really surprised me, when I needed the power it was there and civilized. I'm also considering that car.
