I feel really sorry for you. Glad you are ok.
Your example shows that it is not always safe to posses a helmet![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I got hit by a guy at a gas station two weeks ago and I need two new doors and a sideskirt :/

2004 S55 (SOLD, miss it every day), 2009 GL550
it's not the 70mph that got him, it's the worn tires. Rain with "quite worn off" tires can make even a lowly 20mph drive extremely dangerous
the pictures make me certain of two things:
1) i'm glad I have a Mercedes Benz to wrap around my family
2) OP was wearing his seat belt

about a month ago this happened to me without all the damage and the flip, my tires were bad and i was going 55mph on a state road and hydroplaned across 2 lanes into a ditch. (thankfully there werent any cars in the other lanes) bad tires and wet road dont mix

I got in the habit of checking my tires once a month for wear. When the rears are toast, they get replaced asap so this does not happen. Glad your okay....that really is the most important thing!!

HOT DAMN. That is a mess, glad you are OK. The helmet hitting you in the face is classic.
This reminds me to get my rears replaced on the CLS, definitely doing that before hitting the mountains in two weeks.
