steering rack inspection
I've been hearing about leaking steering racks on 2010 c class so I removed my cover today and sure enough there was fluid on the bottom cover. The 63 has a metal plate that covers some of the two lower bolts that fasten the hoses to the rack so a trip to the shop is needed just to torque the bolts. My 63 is a 09 . The strange thing is I also have a 2010 c300 so I also looked at it today and ther was no leak The c300 has no metal plate so the rack and bolts are in clear view and it would have been easy to tighten bolts. Has anyone had to tighten their steering rack bolts on a 63 ? The metal plate has bolts that look like they will be a pain to remove Any thoughts will be helpful
