2013 sl63 amg pp
mobil 1 0w40 for c63 amg ? is it ok ?
Am just wondering if its ok to use the mobil 1 0w40 for my c63 ? And what is the best oil for performance ?

Your fine. 5-40w is also good. Lately I got oil changed with Castrol Syntec 5-40w. Put hard track miles, just driving it hard. Checked oil level after 700miles. Still on the full line. Don't know is it because of I switch brands, previous was Mobil 1 5-40. The latter the level went down. Maybe Castrol syntec is better?

People say that Motul X-max 5w-40 is much better (it is also MB 229.5 approved.)

mercedes-benz in dubai uses shell helix ultra extra 5w30 and he said that its better than

mobil 1 is it right ??

Thanks for bringing this one up (again). Went to my local oil pusher and for some reason he is only stocking Mobile 1 05 W50.

Am I safe adding this on top of the w40 which I'm currently running?

As long as the oil is rated as MB 229.5 approved, then you should be fine.

Your dealer is telling you information that contradicts what is stated in the owners manual. I confirmed it with my mb master tech and he told me to use 0w-40. 229.5

if you guys gona use the 0w 40 mobil 1 Advance has it on sale right now for $3.99 ( you will have to order online and pick it up in store). The original price is $7.99 . I ordered 7qts last two days and now just got me another 5qts lol.

Page 394 in manual says-AMG spec engine 156 use only 0-40w or 5-40w.

Motul is the best oil PERIOD. I only use the Motul 8100 X-max for oil changes in 63's.

I fact, I only use's Motul in ALL CHANGEABLE fluid services(brake, coolant, gear oil.etc)!

I would tell them to use the correct weight 0W-40 and make sure that oil they are using is in the 229.5 spec list.

0w40 is better for cold starts as it is more liquid when cold. The negative point is the engine consumes more oil with the 0 than 5 when cold.
