Hi guys,
My friend bought a French car mag from France "Sport Auto september 2010" and told me that according to the mag the SLS AMG was SLOWER from 100km/h to 140km/h than the c63 (the 450 hp c63 not the 480 perf pack).
At first I didn't believe him. I tought he must have misread it.
But no. On page 49 it says the 100-140 kph (62 mph to 87 mph)
for the SLS is 3.0 s
and for the C63 is 2.8 s wow!![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
And these are timed with all the fancy equipement.
I read more of the mag and one thing I found interesting was the 1000 meters time from a standstill.
A quarter mile is 402 meters so 1000 m is around 2.5 quarter mille right.
So I had some time to spare
and decided to compile for your pleasure the 1000m time for a few cars from the test data from the magazine.
I never imagined that the C63 was such a beast.![bow](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif)
So here we go:
C 63 1000m = 22.7 seconds 87 600 Euro (E) (the C63 is expensive in France!) 63 500 $ can
Slower cars than the C63 for the 1000m are:
Audi
S5 24.6 s 63 880 E ok we all knew it.
RS5 23.9 s 86 350 E
RS6 Avant 23.1 s (580 hp !!!) 115 000 E![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
R8 V8 23,8 s 112 000 E oh boy...
Bentley
Continental GT coupé Speed 23.3 s (610ch) 206 000 E![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Continental Supersport 22.8 (630 ch !!!) 231 000 E aie caramba!![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)
BMW
M3 24.1 s 76 000 E we also knew it![mercy](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/mecry.gif)
M6 22.8 s 125 000 E wow!![naughty](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/naughty.gif)
X6 M 23.8 s (not bad for a big 4x4) 123 000 E
Ford
Shelby gt 500 23.7 s 55 000 can $
Jaguar
XKR 23.2 s 510 ch 105 000 E
XFR 23.8 s 510 ch 93 000 E
Lexus
IS-F 23.9 s 73 500 E
Maserati
GranTurismo S 24.0 s 129 000 E
Mercedes
SLK 55 AMG 24.0 s 83 600 E
CLS 63 (6.2 L) 23.4 s 119 000 E
SL 63 (6.2 L) 23.4 s 166 000 E![hammer](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bonk.gif)
Porsche
Carrera S PDK 22.9 s ouch! 100 000 E
Cayenne turbo 24.4 s 117 000 E
and the grand finale:
Panamera turbo 22.6 s (no not an error doubled checked it. Double ouch!) 139 000 E![wwf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/chairshot.gif)
All of these stats confirm just how much of a bargain the C63 is. Again all of these time are stock and mesured by the mag.
have a great day.
If you're driving your C63 today it most likely will be.

I know what some will say (have said), but here goes anyway: this test just goes to show that when people in a stock C63 say they had a hypothetical roll race from around 50 mph to 100 mph against a presumably stock Z06 or C6 Vette with Z06 emblems
and they say they were even, they may have not been BSing. Hmm...
Yes, that was a run-on sentence.
TS, thanks for sharing. Very cool results.
Edit: I concede I may have taken off from the sweetspot in my rpms, and dude may have taken off in 4th gear but that's just speculation.
I bring this up because when I made a thread describing the stock C63 as a "beast" from a roll I was rejected by some. Oh well.

I think every C63 owner can relate to the "Ludicrous Speed" at which the C63 can accelerate from 62-87 mph because that's the range of speed we need to be cognizant of on the freeway.
