I did not know about that kink. That's a bummer!

Would that be a relatively doable fix at a competent exhaust shop? I mean, would it necessitate a lot of time and money?

You could probably order a couple of mandrel bends and have an exhaust shop fabricate a replacment for those two pieces. I, too, was bummed when I saw that pic since I have never seen that part of the exhaust before.

Edit: While trying to get a better look, you could probably buy one U-bend for both pipes. Might be an opportunity for MBH to fabricate a resonator replacement since they already make a X-pipe. Or, C63_Guy could quickly fab up a piece. I think GT-Pro's dual X takes care of the kink/flattened area. That flattened area looks like a choking point.

I had some old pics when I had my car on the lift, installing the quaife...and I noticed these kinks in the pics! My guess is they must have been clearance issues?
