MBH X pipe sound got deeper/louder.

It was kinda odd. I was Driving around today and I noticed the exhaust got a deeper, louder tone out of nowhere. Drone increased in the cabin slightly, I really didnt think the change in tone was normal, It is very noticeable!! My first reaction was I thought I had an exhaust leak near the clamps of the X pipe. I had my friend check it out and he said it doesn't sound a leak but it sounds great when I get on the throttle. I trust hes judgment since he custom fabricates exhausts for Porsche and other European cars. The funny thing was I actually liked the sound better.
Sounds in between the straight pipes I had previously but the tighter sound of the X pipe.
Its hard to describe I guess the only way is to take a video.
I did have one question though. Does the X pipe have to be broken in to get the full sound out of it?

How many miles have you put on it since you added the X? This doesn't add up to me, most of the time you see a slight difference from the day of install because the metal expands when heated but night and day doesn't seem right to me. Ive owned a lot of cars with full header back exhaust and never really seen a major difference from day one to day 91.

I probably put around 500 miles on it, maybe more. I mean its not a night and day difference but its noticeable.

This is strange to say the least. I've had my fair share of troubleshooting over the years, but this puzzles me. And of course, If you ever find an issue, We will replace it. The only time I seen the tone get deeper was on my C55. I blew out a cat and that changed the tone.

The X pipe itself is perfect. I was doing an inspection and saw what the problem was. its rubbing up against the metal bracket in the picture.

Than your sound should be more of a metal on metal contact sound, not hollow drone from maybe a chewed up/missing cat or exhaust leak somewhere. Very odd indeed.

That sound like something it could be, good thing I have a solution for that. You will be receiving a new cross member designed to clear that area

That's seems like great customer service. Nice. I hear of so much bad customer service in the aftermarket business, its good to see you guys on top of it without him even asking.

I had this exact same problem when I installed headers/mids. My shop tried to put spacers for the cross brace, they added nearly an 1" or more for added clearance but over time the mids kept settling ontop of it. Keep in mind I have 3" mid pipes which makes clearance even more an issue.

It would cause a very noticeable deep drone inside the cabin, especially on deceleration, and a slight rattle over bumps. But just that slight contact with the cross brace would amplify the entire sound in the cabin! I ended up just removing the brace, but it sounds like MBH is going to hook you up.
