My Q7 tdi was rated at 17 City 25 Highway . I normally averaged 26-28 and i would get 24 city and 33-34.5 highway. I think the epa test drivers have a heavy foot. Even when i drove the q7 a bit quick mpgs would never reach under 20. Now my ram is another story its rated at 13 city 19 highway and the best i could ever get for city was 10 and there is no way in hell you can go past 17 mpg's on the highway unless you are going on a huge downhill. My wifes a4 also gets better mpgs than what the epa posts. My guess is either the epa is bias towards american cars or their tests are just pure bull crap. BTW my tests were not done only with the mpg meter in the car i actually calculated them my self to see what the hell was going on.

And if you can find it, I highly recommend 100% gas, rather than the 10% ethanol fuel line/pump poison most stations sell. My MPG in the CLK Black jumped 2-3mpg interstate, and seat of the pants felt a little faster too.
And it has the added bonus of not putting a hydrophilic liquid in my gas tank, which increases the condensation and water present in the fuel.

I had a conversation with someone over dinner about hypermiling, so for fun I decided to hypermile my C63 across the city. Didn't touch the brakes once, pissed off a lot of people rolling up to the lights, tailgated every truck or van I could, took perfect lines and hit every apex of every corner, and managed 9.9L/100km (23.8mpg) lol.

Was quite the ****ty drive though so I'm never doing it again. I usually average 11mpg in the summers, and averaging 14.8mpg over the life of the vehicle (40,000kms). I drive like a dick.

My apology for the poor quality picture I couldn't tell it didn't focus in the dark. Anyways I drove to the airport tonight and just thought Id reset the values and see what they came up with. It read 9.5L/100km which is much better than I expected. If I were driving longer Im sure it would have dropped more!

I was able to avg btwn 20-21 (I forget exact) on a drive from Vegas to visit ACG in San Diego. Drove in C and kept speedo around 75 MPH. Pedal was never mashed and slowly eased in to try to obtain the highest MPG.
