Went for a ride in OE TUNNING's C63....WOW

I'm not too keen on speculations but based on my previous experiences with Jeremy, Alex, and the crew there, I definitely wouldn't expect inflated numbers. Quite the opposite in my experience with them. I have first hand experience with their dyno unfortunately to prove so.
Before jumping the gun, let's please allow OE check in here before jumping the gun with all the assumptions being thrown around.
Thanks,
Anthony

Keep in mind it was a race fuel file
I would say we have some preliminary dyno information based on Jeremy's most recent track outing.
With just a tune and this header-back (catless) exhaust and some race gas he was trapping like 2-3 mph higher than some tune-only C63's.
So, to me, the Gintani/OE header-back exhaust adds about 20 rwhp.
I've heard the car with the header-back exhaust -- haven't driven in it -- and it sounds very powerful.
The exhaust really seemed to help the M156 make more power because you could not only hear the engine rumble a bit more than stock, but you could also feel it when you stood behind the car.
It reminded me of a V8 with a blower on it-- it just seemed like a lot more air was passing through the exhaust.
I've been really excited to see what the track results will be once the new headers are installed and the tune is adjusted accordingly. Jeremy's traps should only increase and that's going to be very fun to see.

I asked Jeremy that the other day, and he assured me it was the regular off-the-shelf tune that he's been providing customers lately. He said he ran 104 octane fuel on it to make sure timing was being optimized.
Now I may have misunderstood, but regardless, I'm sure Jeremy will chime in here soon enough and clarify any confusion.

OE Tuning C63 AMG
Thanks Guys for the kind words. Just to clarify my car has a cat-less header back system running factory stock headers.
The results and some pictures are posted here:

Yes, same tune as my car if I remember correctly. Not a race fuel file.
Some really nice numbers considering stock manifolds. I want to see it on the track with some DR's and skinnys up front! He ran an 11.6 on street tires and no skinnys. Lets go Jeremy!

With the 60' ge cut drs I don't think would improve his times much and skinnies on average take .05 off so..
I'm wondering if i could be wrong but the exhust is manifold back, the big bottleneck problem could've been solved? Not hating think OE is doing a great job.. And any owner proving his own product deserves a thumbs up in my book

From my understanding his 11.6 run was made with a custom track tuned 104 octane file.. It also says that in supers quickest 1/4 mile c63 thread!?? If it is indeed an of the shelf file oe should have super change it..

From what I remember Jeremy telling me about the octane and his tune when he was at the strip, he was running the 91 octane fuel maps and he felt that his car adapated somewhat to the higher octane.
I was asking him whether the 91 octane file could benefit from higher octane and I think I remember him saying that the 91 octane file still had some ability to become more aggressive once the higher octane was recognized by the ECU.
Jeremy, I apologize if I am mistaken with some of my facts. Please feel free to correct me if necessary.

I thought I was told by more then a few people that are close and know what was up that it was track tuned/optimized for race fuel at the track.. I could be wrong?
Jeremy was it a custom tune as stated in the quickest 1/4 mile thread or am I completely wrong?

The car does and will adapt a bit to race fuel.
Yes, the exhaust is manifold back. Stock manifolds were in place, primary and secondary cats were deleted and the exhaust tube diameter is 3", I believe.

so I assume all is accurate.

Dragtimes states it was a Custom Tune and Sunoco 104 Unleaded was used -> http://www.dragtimes.com/Mercedes-Be...lip-22146.html

I was with Jeremy tonight at his shop and verified that the tune he ran at famoso for his 11.6 run was indeed the same off-the-shelf map all of us customers are running.

Ok Thanks Jeremy! Let the man come answer the question! When he ran 11.6 at the track he was on a custom tune.. Stop acting silly. Look at his dragtime post

You don't think DR's are going to improve his time? Still spin after the 60' that could be eliminated by the DR's. I think DR's would improve things. Either way, you guys have proven that the 60' doesn't mean everything in the C63. You had better 60' with worse ETs than your fastest run last time at the track. Edit: I just looked at his 60'. It was a 1.816. Plenty of room for improvement.
Also skinny's help a lot. They sure did for Raleigh who set the record for the tune only lowest time. He goes from an average 11.8 tune only to an 11.6 with the skinny's up front.
https://mbworld.org/forums/4394675-post179.html
DR's and Skinny's should put Jeremy's car close to 11.3-11.4 in my opinion. Well see I guess.
"Great post!" doesn't confirm anything. He might have just missed it. The tune was "Custom" as it wasn't the stock file. Hopefully he can shed some light on the subject..

A c63 on drag raidials avg like 1.78-1.80 60' or atleast mthis and I did as a matter of fact i think mthis out of 100+ runs only a handful were in the 1.7s.. They also take some speed away as you as start moving. I gave Jeremy big big props for that 60' in our cars withoul lightening up and all that's a great run. In my opinion the introduction of drs and skinnies wouldn't help him that much at all. The trap speed wasn't really there must of the cars that went sub 11.5 trapped at least 1 mph more then his.
But I guess until Jeremy gets out there again we will have to
Wait and see..
Why don't you get the exhust and come to atco I'd be more then happy to let u use my tire setup..

Not sure until Jeremy says otherwise, but I remember asking JonMartin who was speaking for OE at the time before they were a sponsor and this was the answer:

I have my plans for the spring. They do not include getting this exhaust. I would sooner just delete the cats and get long tubes and get a header tune. But that's just me.
Thanks for the offer on the tire setup. Ill take you up on it for sure if I don't have my own set by the spring.

Exactly my only point is that the 11.6 run was achieved using a custom race fuel tune! Also petros run was not sub 11.5 it was 11.59
Pure speculation until he gets on the track by both of us. I think if he goes from 1.8 to 1.7 in his 60' he could pickup a 10th... maybe. The skinny's up front will not only help his 60' but his traps as well. Hes got enough MPH to get 11.4 for sure. I think Petro with his 11.5 was 1 MPH slower than his.
