2012 CTS-V or an AMG?
1) Anyone have experience with newer Cadillac tech? How's the GPS compared to Command / Sync?
2) Is it sacrilege to get an automatic in a car with +550 hp?
3) Any other comments?
TIA.
And is it a sacrilege to have a 550+ hp car with an auto? You are asking that on an AMG forum?
What is sacrilege is eating a burger while driving. When you are driving, drive. Nothing else. Esp. with 550 HP. Or when I am on the road with you.
personally i am biased to german vehicles...
i would rather get a 2nd hand 997 tt or gtr over the new cts-v...
the touch screen in the ctsv is quite impressive though, but it's not a phone, i don't need that touch screen...
i love c63

also MSN AUTO:
Pros: Smooth acceleration and handling, exterior styling Cons: The interior of this car was an absolute deal breaker. If you do not like squeaks and rattles, then avoid this car ........... on a brand new cts, there was a symphony of squeaks and rattles from the center console, shifter, dashboard, and doors............what a total letdown. Almost hard to believe that this was the 08 north american car of the year. They should have paid more attention to interior quality because the actual ride...
if you just google cts and squeak there are tons of pages! ..pretty disappointing, if not for these issues I prob would of gotten the CTS-V, I like that they are rare.

not sure about the 1/4 mile. my neighbor has both cars and said the c was quicker. as far as the cts-v owned one in 2005 and i know they've come a long way but mine was awful and rattled constantly.

They feel like the seats on the TV series Knight rider with the fagget Hasselhof and his fagget hair and 70's vynil/disco jacket flying in the hair, plain aweful.
Like I said, if you really want to point perhaps at the worst seats on a expensive sports car look no further(C6 Z06)

Don't make it a space ship, make it a DAMN sports car.

2. I will obviously put the burger down once I hit the highway / other conditions demand it; however, I have not been in a single accident yet, and while that record will only stand for so long, I think it does speak to some relatively decent judgment.

Great info. I appreciate you taking the time to post it

I keep threatening to go drive one. But given my love for sport wagons I'm afraid of what might happen if I liked it...
He also told me that he misses his AMG a lot! lol

Black Diamond edition....you pay $5000 more for paint and "saffron" interior and painted wheels.....
The paint is horrible and way too heavy with the metallic....and that interior with the yellow leather and wood looks like the dressing room from Blades of Glory.....
Just sayin.....

I would get the C 63 because it's lighter, number one.
Number two, it's engine is far more impressive. The fact that the m156 can have as much hp as the LSA with just LT's and a tune is pretty sweet.
I think the CTSV's interior would get old real fast. In a couple of years it may be funny looking.
Regarding rattles, I can't imagine a CTSV would be worse than my C63. So, in that regard, you never know how your car will turn out.
I heard the standard interior looks much nicer than the C63 (not the silly one posted).
I am a rattle freak, any suspension/other noise makes me crazy when it comes to a car. The C63 is really built like a tank. It can handle a beating, something very few companies can claim, talk to the Ferrari guys!
Edge goes to the C63 on this one.
