What a foolish thing to say, it isn't even released or completed yet. Plus subtle looks are one of the main reasons many people buy super-sedans. Only thing you said that made any sense was that the V10 did add a uniqueness to the E60.

My '08 brother looking for something new... say it ain't so! I think you may be afflicted with a condition commonly found on performance and collector car forums:
http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novelty_seeking
On one hand, it can be a very expensive condition to treat with the only possible cures being wisdom and content. On the other... this condition along with "keeping up with the Joneses" aka competition are what keep our economy humming along!
In that case I will just wish you Happy hunting and enjoy the ride! Life is good.....
p.s. skip the 1st year M-car

im sure the M5 will be a mightily impressive car, but Im just not a fan of the current BMW line of design (excluding the M3 just love the bulge), but all the current AMGs are stunning in comparison.

Don't forget about the 2012 E63 which is suspected to have the new 5.5L twin turbo engine as well, which if true, will be even better than the CLS due to being lighter

I thought that I was going to get a 550i, until I drove it. What a huge disappointment. You simply cannot hear the engine, might as well be in a Lincoln Town Car. Car has confusing electronics, bland - looking and the steering felt artificial. When I told that salesman that I didn't like it, he laughed. I laughed right back and said that this POS makes the current 550 actually look good.
I don't think, aside from blasting up the street, that you would like the M5.
I second the hot new CLS.

The new CLS is one hot machine if you can afford the bill.
I agree that the new M5 is very blend and not my cup of tea. I am sure performance will be outstanding but it's no head turner. The V10 in the old one coupled with an eisman exhaust was bliss.
