I throw a towel over the seat after a run. After I lift I'll do the same if I think I need to.

Quote: I also eat in my car *OH NO.... HOW COULD HE.. BURN HIM AT THE STAKE*
There's nothing wrong with that. I remember one time I was eating chocolate chip cookies on my way to work, and a piece fell between my legs on the seat. I didn't realize it until I got to work 20 miles later, and got up to find cookie crumbs and chocolate smeared on the seat, lol. A couple wipes of a non-scented baby wipe(always good to keep in the glove box when you have leather seats), and you couldn't even tell.

Let's be honest, while the leather AMG seats are nice, MB could have used better quality leather. I condition mine at least once a month with Meguiars Gold Class leather conditioner. I have 36K miles, and the bolsters on the drivers seat are showing excessive wrinkles, and even a little peeling. The stitching is also showing excessive wear and tear in my opinion. Not what I expected for a car in this price bracket.

Next month, I'm taking her to the dealer, throwing a tantrum, and demanding they replace the leather on the driver side seat. Wish me luck

Sometimes I wish MB-Tex is a stand alone option and we can get it with the seat memory and not like all or nothing. But yeah, eating in the car generally is a no-no for me, and I guess this is an America thing as cars are so cheap in the states that people have no respect to their own vehicles. Eating, drinking, trash everywhere inside the car and who knows what else.

Best would be to take a good shower after your workout.

I don't think its a lack of respect for the car, rather convenience, I spend alot of time in my car. I do however clean it out regularly.

One reason I'm not looking forward to the summer is swamp ***. It's especially toxic after a nice 3-4 mile run in the humidity

Don't get me wrong, I was referring to people that messes up their car and NOT cleaning up after themselves. So in your case that's fine.

You most definitely have to wear something, as alcantara will show dirt and grime especially on the steering wheel.

wearing gloves?

Putting towels done?

Its just a car people, christ.

Just clean the seats and steering wheel every once in a while and be done with it.

my goodness some people take this **** stuff to a new level.

Why not just leave the delivery plastic over the seats.

In fact I am.

Its a piece of metal and leather and plastic.

If it gets bent, worn, or chipped, replace it and move on.

Yeah, its gonna get some wear...bfd.

Might as well wrap the whole car in a clear bra including the interior.

Who are you saving it for, cause you damn sure aren't keeping it for life.

Well if you have that mentality. Why even bother washing your car? You do wash it? Don't you?

On occasion. I think its pretty ridiculous when people wash their car weekly (or even daily like some super losers). I wash it when it gets so dirty that I don't want to look at it any more.

I also don't have 4 million coats of zaino, I don't condition the leather every 2 days, and I don't dust it off every time it leaves the garage.

Okay.. I think this is getting out of hand.. to each his own, its our own money and items, treat them as you will, but don't go putting down someone because he or she does something you do not agree with.

As for washing the car, I wash mine completely once a month or so, and then do a quick wash weekly, quick being I have one of the Gilmour foamaster attachments, fill with soap, spray on car, rinse off and I am done. And then twice a year (spring and just before winter), I will do the whole deal, polish, glaze, seal and wax (and then wax every other month or so during summer)... Although this past winter has been hard on my car (missing a cover ring for one fog light, stone smashed the other....)

I jump right in after swimming (towel down, sure), I eat in my car, I smoke in my car, I screw in my car, I've carried snowboards/skis in my car (and scratched the back of my seats up a little), I move tables with then hanging out the boot in my car, and much more.

I'm pretty much in the "it's a car, use it" camp.

I spent the cash on this car (note: depreciating asset anyway) to enjoy it and use it. I take the value loss as an expensive and accept it as a cost of happiness.

In summary: work hard, play hard, then clean up after yourself and not to leave a mess.
