It doesn't run richer. It burns at the same rate as normal gasoline.

Non oxygenated burn at more BTUs i believe.
Where do I buy it?

That's a great site man, thanks for the link. Have you had any problems with Sunoco 100 octane? Did you mix with pump gas? If so, how much?

No problem. I haven't had any problems with Sunoco. Just use the calculator for the desired octane and you should be good. I mix with Shell or Chevron 91.

i have a question....i thought you should only run race/high octane fuel if your car is tuned for it? isnt higher octane fuel harder to burn so if you put it in a car thats not tuned for it, it would actually run worse (since it cant burn all the fuel)...at least thats how i understand it

What you said is generally correct. But, M156 equipped cars are meant to run on at least 93 octane. So 94-95 octane should be fine. I don't know this for a fact but by the way the car responds (seat of the pants) to that octane level makes me believe there is a little more in the stock tune... as in more timing advanced up to a point.

I think if I take a match to my race fuel drum it's going to burn just the same,

The only prob with some race fuels is they aren't stoichiometric at the same levels as normal gas.

So for example: vp ms109 is stoichiometric at 13.4:1... If your car is tuned for normal gas which burns at 14.7:1 than you are adding too much air to the mixture and running lean.

So say your tuned for 14 at patial throttle and 13 at WOT, in reality with ms109 you running 15 partial and 14 WOT.

So a good race tune needs to take your fuel source into consideration.

The good thing about mixing ms109 or any higher octane race fuel with regular gas is you increase the octane level so these engines won't detect any knock when your racing and won't pull timing..
