Evo IX 2800lbs ? Never!! they are anywhere from 3220LBS or so for the RS to 3285lbs for the MR. I owned 3 Evos (two of them purchased new). With typical weight reductions like the list below you normally get the Evo at around 3130-3140lbs:

Odyssei battery(11.5lbs)
aftermarket turboback without cat(25-35lbs lighter)
aftermarket intercoolers pipes with cone air filter
removal of front bumper crash bar
removal of spare tire, jack and floormats
very low on gas

I think that this post is silly but I will just pitch in some facts. With only a GIAC tune on 93 oct you can get 50-60lbs-tq on the VW FSI/TSI engine, same thing with APR tunes.
With addition of a full 2.5" turbo back and air filter you can net over 100lb-tq increase.

My own car got 298lb-tq on a dyno dynamic Dyno to the wheels from a 207lb-tq manufacturer crank advertizing. The Jetta GLI engine was made for mid range torque thus the small turbo it comes with it (K03s). It is a great car with great gas mileage and great built quality. my .2c

Yeah, the rear is alright. Its the front end that is not so good on my eyes. Terrible headlights.
