the reason they say it cant handle the torque is it cant handle abuse with that level of torque.... they need to make the drivetrain able to withstand abbuse from burnouts adn break torques from idiots without having to fix things while under warranty... and yes the 7 speed would not handle 800 lbs/ft of torque abbuse...but it would easily handle it if driven normally... I have seen porsche 944 turbo transmissions which are rated to 400 lbs/ft taking a twin turbo ls1s 850 ft/lbs at the wheels without any issues.... as long as he stays away from 4000 rom clutch drops and abbusive burnouts/break torques... and that 7 speed is alot better built than that 944 tranny....
Lets go for the superhargers

Well said. MB transmissions are always ahead of Porsche Trannys. By the way, I just found this out: The new 5.5 twin turbo engines that are being released later this year carry the new MCT 7 speed transmission, which is available on the current SL63 and E63. the engine is rated at 590 lb/ft (805 NM) and 563 horsepower. I guess the transmission can really handle that much power. http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...8-biturbo.html

The new 5.5 TT V8 is already released. Dealerships are already selling the new CL63's.
