I think the biggest reason is they ran it on a Mustang chassis dyno which produces significantly lower numbers than the more typical DynoTech units. Hot Rod mag ran an article on this over the winter taking the same car to several shops to document. You also have to figure a 20% loss between the crank and the rear wheels with an auto trans. Needless to say the car goes from ridiculous fast for a street car to f'in ridiculous fast and $25 per hp is a bargain.

Your Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG 6.3 uses an ECU which has 'flash' memory. The flash EPROM inside the ECU is a hybrid and cannot be modified via a replacement part. Powerchip can 'flash' program the EPROM device by interfacing with the computer's wiring connector plugs to reprogram the chip that contains the engine's fuel delivery, ignition timing and throttle response settings. The ECU will need to be removed from the vehicle and sent via overnight courier to Powerchip. We have full photo ECU removal instructions to assist you and we will contact you after the order is made to organize the shipping information and other details.
In standard form, the C63 AMG 6.3 produces 451 hp and 443 lb.-ft.
Powerchip has a range of chips to suit your car, which can increase it's power to 523 hp, and it's torque to 513 lb.-ft.
The price of the Powerchip is USD $1,490.00, but MB World pricing is $1,095.00! Sale ends soon!
So we tested the Powerchip on our own C63. The process is very easy we mailed our stock ecu and they sent the flashed ecu back in just two days. For those who don't know the ecu is located under the hood located in the upper left corner. Just remove the cover and there is your ecu and just unplug all connections. The whole process takes two minutes or less.
The conditions were:
Car: STOCK 09 C63
Dyno: Mustang
Octane: 91
Temp Outside: 75 degrees
Altitude: 1600 ft above sea level
Car: STOCK 09 C63
Dyno: Mustang
Octane: 91
Temp Outside: 75 degrees
Altitude: 1600 ft above sea level
The results the car made an additional 45whp/42wtq! Again with no mods!
