I think the Designo Black might have the alcantera inserts...ala below
I originally was going to get a an 040 Black car as well but had to wait 4 months to get it. There were a couple of Obsidian C63's around...but i ended up getting Palladium Silver and don't regret it at all

I'm not sure what the pricing is, but I'm sure it wont be cheap.
I'm maxed out as it is with the current configuration.

Callmiro, your car looks so good in that pic, as I said earlier you can't go wrong with the beast in any of the colors.The nice thing about non-black cars is the effects of blacking out things like the splitter (callmiro's) badges, etc.--this stuff gets "lost" on black cars IMO.
Although, I do like CF bits on black cars since it's more subtle--although I don't think CF can look bad on any AMG

Have you thought about taking delivery in Affalterbach? Touring the AMG engine factory is really something special.
Keep us posted during your wait... congrats again! We will need pics and videos the second you take delivery.

My dealer did the Affalterbach tour and said it was incredible.
I'd love to do it one day. Just watched the Ultimate Factories AMG episode last week, my girl friend thinks I'm a nerd.
I told my dealer not to take the plastic protective wrapping used during shipping off of the car until I am there...
I'll make sure to take lots of pictures.
Now I just have to survive the next 6 months of waiting.
My dealer did the Affalterbach tour and said it was incredible.

Hmm, they just added another option under Optional Equipment which was not available when I placed my order a few weeks ago:
Optional Equipment
001 Accessory Navigation System (ANS) - TBD
This option was not available on any previous years C63's, so it looks new to 2012.
Nobody at the dealership knows what this is, anyone here have an idea?
My build already has the 320 Multimedia Package.

Have you gotten a build date for yours yet? My dealer says he keeps checking but there is no news yet.
I opted for:
Exterior: Steel Grey
Interior: Red/Black leather
Trim: Carbon Fiber
Multimedia package
Lighting Package
AMD Development Package
Limited Slip Differential Lock
Media Interface Plus
I think that's about it. I'm so excited, I'm like a kid waiting for christmas.

Hi today they answered me because i've asked if i can have extra designo brown interior.
But 12 Weeks to wait for it. Crazy!!!!! so i decided for a x11 designo black.
Like this probably next month it will be there. I hope so.

Just got back from the dealer, there was problems with my order in the system. I was allocated a build in the "third decade in August" which would be a late Oct delivery here in California. The dealer entered the order with my Steel Grey but today the system rejected it because Steel Grey was no longer offered so I went for the new Magnetite Black ( metallic grey/black).
I had to opt for the COMMAND Launch pack instead of the 320 Multimedia Pack because the CD changer unit is made in Japan and the supplier was severely effected by the earthquake. So far I don't mind the changes too much...
The manager went to update my order in the assigned allocation and the system rejected the P31 AMG Development pack. No explanation was given by the system, just the car could be built without that option. So my order is in with the P31 pack and I have to wait for a build allocation that accepts my options and they don't know when that will be.
My order is now placed as:
Paint: 183 Magnetite Black
Interior: 244 designo Classic Red/Black Two-Tone Edition
Trim: H37 Carbon Fiber Trim
Options:
P31 AMG Development Package
471 Limited Slip Differential Lock
