c63
You sure are right about the depreciation. I would have thought the exclusitivity of the c63 vs the m3 would make it hold better.

2014 C63 Sedan
Am I the only one that don't care what the cars value will be when I decide to get rid of it! If you want to but that will hold it's value, buy a Honda! This cars are toys and off course want costs more than need!

M6 Gran Coupe
Is it really an exclusivity issue with the C63 versus the M3? I think the M3 is just more popular.....I never was a big fan of the small sedan...I find it almost pointless (which is why M3 sedans don't sell well). You can buy a coupe that is bigger than one of these small sedans.....3 series, C-Class......A4. The only reason they are sold is to capture those entry level buyers in most cases.

Personally, I think AMG depreciation is large because they are becoming less exclusive in terms of power. I remember back in 2003 when they really started cranking up the HP and Torque numbers....500?! That was/is a lot.

But now look.....my M6 had 500HP and 350 torque....and my 750 I just bought has 400HP and 450 torque.....the numbers on the basic cars keep getting higher. My 7 feels faster than the M6 did. Why would I go out and buy a S63 when I have more than enough power in a normal 7.....or a normal S550 if they switch to the 8 speed tranny? No, it won't be 550 HP....but the difference between a 450HP stock versus a 550HP isn't as big as you think......and it's definitely not worth an extra $50k over a base model.

So what else does AMG cars offer? A better bodykit? So what.....buy the sport package, get the same damn kit for $6k as an option. So basically you get a nicer steering wheel.....four exhaust pipes....a few more HP and few more torque....for $50k more? Not in this economy. Not with gas prices where they are.

There just seems to be very little difference nowadays between an AMG and a stock model with the AMG package that will justify that larger price.
