Autoblog had their First Drive post up for the C63 Coupe. Looks great as a matte black one too.

Too bad that color will not be available in the US.

What's up with them stating the coupe will weigh more than the sedan? Is this correct? I don't think so. I assume they are referring to the regular C class.

AMG coupe is 3814lbs.

AMG site lists the 2011 sedan at 3924.

This site lists the sedan at 3649, which seems hard to believe given the new tranny is likely heavier, but the site seems like it's publishing official data.

Quote: i dont get it on the video by autocar they said its a 7speed automatic
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7G-Tronic

Mercedes-AMG developed the 7-speed MCT "Multi Clutch Technology" planetary semi-automatic transmission.

The MCT transmission is essentially the 7G-Tronic automatic transmission without a torque converter. Instead of a torque converter, it uses a compact wet startup clutch to launch the car from a stop, and also supports computer-controlled double declutching. The MCT (Multi-Clutch Technology) acronym refers to a planetary (automatic) transmission’s multiple clutches and bands for each gear.[4]

pano roof on the coupe is more than likely the reason for the extra tonnage

Yeah but it doesn't make sense that the sedan weighs less if the coupe is around 3800lbs. Who knows...we will find out once the cars are actually available.

Still think it just looks plain ugly. It's like a chopped current C63 and squished up and the front lights look so feminine. Too much going on.

I just CANNOT bring my self to like it at all...

Is it just me, I feel like the side views of the c63 coupe is weird primarily because of the rear fender. The front of the car looks raised compared to the rear. I own a 2010 M3 and I feel the side looks much better because the fender arches are more matched. I guess it is also because of the bigger gap in the photo between the wheel and the fenders. Does it look like the rear is dropped and front isnt to you guys? I hope there are some after market systems to help make it look more aggressive.

I agree it looks good in red. But that's not Mercede's red. These are photos in which photoshop's saturation slider was slid waaaay over to the right. Heck, the thing is practically Def-Con-5, nuclear-meltdown "red." Just about nothing in real life looks remotely like that, and certainly not the Mercedes red, which is a considerably darker blood-red. Indeed, compare a few of the photos - in some, such as the second one, the "red" is nearly orange, which is what often happens when you push red too much.

This is a perennial problem with photos of cars these days (and lots of other subjects). Hit the saturation hard, kick in a mess of mid-tone contrast, etc., and you've got a photo that looks super punchy but has little relationship to the actual color, etc., of the car.
