1990 300ce supercharged and intercooled
It is always surprising to me that people think that this stuff costs too much. It probably costs around 7000-8000 dollars to manufacture each kit based on volume, maybe more. Then there is the development costs, lets say 100,000, which I think is grossly underestimated. So you got to sell around 15 them to get your money back. And then you have liability on a engine and drivetrain that can cost upwards of 30k. And then maybe a total sales of say around 100 kits especially since there are two companies selling kits.
The original kleemann blowers were around 15k + install and now they are around 8k. What are the total sales numbers on that setup which fit on basically every v8 in all models for 8 years.

KLEEMANN USA, the exclusive North American distributor for Xtra-Power is now offering M156 Supercharger systems for all 63 AMG cars including the SLS! Xtra-Power Superchargers are $19K for all 63 AMG cars except the SLS, which is wildly different. SLS systems are $29K and make 650 WHP on an otherwise stock engine. For a limited time, KLEEMANN USA is offering FREE installation at our Colorado HQ for ALL M156 systems. SLS requires a lead-time of 4 weeks- all others are available NOW!
Test Car: 2009 C63. Xtra-Power Supercharger, MHP catless Long-Tube headers. The black line on the dyno shows wheel HP, the red line is uncorrected crank HP. Corrected crank HP is about 707!! Enjoy!!

Either way, can't wait to see what some board members start putting down track wise with these kits.

Don't get me wrong man... 19k is 19k no matter what . BUT? I was the first to try to install a supercharger ON A 63 way back in 2007 .. but after a LONG LONG wait and many set backs , I lost a good chunk of cash to the vender and it never happened. So here we are 4 years later and it's a reality . No way can I pass it up.... By the way ,has any one heard from Jim? he was to pick his car up from EVO Thursday. Well the power gain are not really what i'm after , I mean I have dyno sheets showing 612rwhp but the thought of a superchared CLS63 is AWSOME

Hell no..........he did flew over to EVO but now he's in Vegas. What really funny is........he's now recommending people should buy the SC direct and have them do the installation. I can see why, after months and months of waiting and still counting.........

So, really, I was comparing the M156 and the M159.

That being said I hope we get a vendor (or 2), installer or better yet THE HORSES MOUTH(mr.J) to chime in..... This is a long awaited mod. As a lot of you may remember I too went down this 63 supercharger road years ago with an Xvendor here on this forum... So Let The Party Begin

2013 Chevy 427 Torch Red
The graph is plotting whp and bhp rather than torque. Hence no crossover. Not sure why they chose to display it that way, I would like to see the torque numbers.

I agree with your statement. This is an information forum., be it good , bad or set back info. We all learn from each other, vendors and installers. In the R&D stages of a new mod it is us, the ones that purchase the products that need to share our opinions. Like I said this is a FORUM to share info, not N.A.S.A

I have to agree with you 110%. I was involved in a supercharger development program. The prototype is typically machined from a chunk of billet and rotors are not that much. Once you find the casting house for the housing and manifold them its the fuel rails and injectors. The IC pump is probably an off the shelf Bosch unit along with the aluminum heat exchanger...oh yea dont forget those expensive rubber hoses. I bet you dont get braided ones! Sure there is R&D and tuning time......but MAX cost per unit is about 4,500-5k. Weistec and Kleeman are cutting a fat hog in the ***. I bet the Weistec is a 2.3 Magnuson or Eaton adapted onto a 6.3 specific manifold. Then the cost is even less!!!
They definetly narrow down the number they will sell, but they are looking for a narrow market that will drink their expensive Kool-Aid.

Ahh ok I did not read Cory's opening statement carefully then. But why on earthwould he just plot the HP figures without showing the torgue graph? I'd like to see the torgue graph as well.

$19k
Reminds me of the good ole days when Kleemann first introduced the s/c system for the M113's. It was the same price.
Only difference now is i don't know if this X-Power s/c system is mfg by Kleemann or is it a different company?
Either way you can't go wrong...it's proven!

Also, $15k to $19k for a blower setup is ridiculous. It is even more ridiculous than all the headers that cost $3.8k.

Actually it is a screw compressor. The difference is that the screw compressor has two different rotors. One three rotor and one 5 rotor. You can tell by the thickness of each blade. Also their website has a fair amount of support for using the screw compressor as a reason for choosing it. The eaton is two 4 rotor blades. They are twisted for more efficiency on the eaton but not a screw.
