so, I'm done. my camera's macro settings are limited. sorry. I'm very happy with it. came out completely flush. I just took a blowdryer to it. Within 30 seconds or so, corner of the razorblade slipped right in and I was able to pull the stock badge off.

comes with double sided tape already on it, which adds to the thickness. The aluminum itself is about the thickness of a dime.

So does it create a lip you can feel on the edges or does it sit flat?

sits flat. I hadn't pressed it down evenly when I took my photos so the right side had a slight lip. I pressed it down and now everything is flat. I run my fingers across it in either direction and there is no lip.

Before, I had the AMG badge glued on the original star so what you can see is super-glue residue.
