I am also interested in Final Touch's work. I live about 5 minutes from them. Did they give you a quote on the work? I have my window trim painted in satin black. Looks much more aggressive.

For those of you who have vinyl your window trim, how did you deal with the bottom piece on the window trim? There is a piece of rubber seal sitting on top of the trim. Should the excess vinyl go under the rubber or over?

Ill post up pics once the work is done - already told him that I have a few guys in the area asking about it.
The shop is nice and clean - and they showed me their past work, mostly on P cars and they did some extensive work on GTR - real clean work.

Brought the C63 in this morning to Final Touch - should have it back by tomorrow, Thursday at the latest.
I'll have a full review for you guys in a couple days but so far Im very pleased with the experience. Pulled up at 8 am and both John and Robert (owner) come out to greet me. As im telling John what Id like to do, one guy comes out and wraps the entire cockpit in plastic, and as I turn around Robert already has my grill removed in his hands so that he can go over the details of what I want painted.
There was a Range getting a custom bumper, two 911's, a set of D2 Forged wheels getting painted and a bunch of other regular cars (they do collision work as well). So they pretty much do it from basic to complex.
To top it all off they also drove me home in a nice brand new 7 series.

Im going to Final Touch in West New York - scheduled for next week. Once Im done I will post my findings. So far Im impressed, but Ill be the guinea pig.

As for what Im doing, I decided not to black everything out. My Range Rover Sport was previously blacked out and I actually hated it.
For the C63
Satin Black Grill leaving the circle and star chrome
Fog Light Rings Satin Black
Im leaving the window trim chrome to match the wheels and 6.3 logo on the side
And on the rear Im leaving the trunk handle chrome
Blacking out the trim and having it look right compared to the flat black rubber and gloss pillar didnt make sense to me.
The Arkym Diffuser will go on too and the Modulares will go back on end of the month - once they pave some of the roads
Ill let you guys know -

I believe the Arkym diffuser is flat black with CF as an option. I thinking of getting there front spoiler if I can find out what it's made of. I just did my grill in flat black. Kinda tricky because of all the curves and you have to take it off and pull a few a pieces off it.

here are some better shots of mine I found. gloss black with color matched star, everything painted. left the mesh standard plastic finish. still not sure I'm keeping the silver star it comes off nice and easy.

I will post up some pictures later but I just finished blacking out the window trim on my Palladium Silver 2010.
I bought this 3M vinyl tape here ($37) and it took me about 2 hours total to do the job.
The upper window trim was easy to remove (just pops off the clips) so I did that with the trim removed.
I went to an auto-body shop today to ask how to remove the lower trim and because you have to remove the mirrors and thus the interior door panels I decided to add the tape while the trim was still on the car.
The hardest part was the part around the mirrors, but it turned out great.
I'll get some pics soon.

Here are the pics of my blackout job. Again, I spent $37 and about 2 hours labor doing this. Because it's just vinyl tape it's easily removable.
I like the grill chrome, so I'm leaving it that way. I did the windows and the chrome strip on the trunk.
I didn't have to do any of the sections twice, but there are some bumps on the trunk strip (it was the first section I tried). I am going to try the heat gun to see if I can smooth it out and if not I'll just redo it.
The car is kinda dirty in these shots. Sorry. Sue me.

FWIW, on my car's thread I posted the following. Putting it here since people searching will likely find this first:
Start with a length of tape the length of the strip.
With sticky side facing up, slide it under the lower part of the trim. There's a gap between the trim and the painted surface of the door that's just wide enough for the tape to fit through. Use a sawing motion R/L to get it in place. On one door, I had to pry the trim up just a tad in one spot.
Once you do this the piece of tape will be sitting in place, sticky side up.
Carefully start rolling the tape up to cover the chrome. Do about 2mm at a time, going the length of the door. Eventually you'll have the tape laid down bottom to top on the trim, covering even the rubber seal and part of your window.
Now the tricky part: Use your fingernail to GENTLY crease the tape where the rubber seal meets the chrome. The rubber seal does not actually go on top of the chrome piece, but abuts it. I ran my fingernail back and forth GENTLY until I could see and feel that line where the rubber meets chrome.
Now using a nylon tool for removing trim, or some other relatively sharp, but soft edged tool and press that crease in a little deeper. You don't want to press so hard you tear the tape just enough to really make the crease crisp.
Now get your Xacto knife and carefully cut the crease.
Tada! A perfect tape cut!
