New C63 owner, just wanted to introduce myself
It took awhile, but I finally fell victim to German engineering.
Hi all, My name is Greg Lilly, and i'm now a C63 owner. (is that how we're suppose to introduce ourselves?)
I run a vinyl graphics business here in Houston, been in the auto/tuner industry since my first import back in 1995 (Honda Civic). I've been through many, many cars, ...always modifying, trying to make it better. The last 10 years have been spent predominantly in the Subaru community, as I went through 2 WRX's and 2 STI's (still sitting on one now, trying to sell on Ebay)
Things seem to be quite different here on the German side, and so far as i've been lurking I like it very much. It is much like the Subaru forums (Nasioc.com) was before the "youngster's" got a hold of the cars. Anyway, I could go on and ramble, but I just wanted to take an opportunity to put myself out here. Without a doubt, I will surely be posting "noob" questions, so please bare with me, as I learn a whole new segment of automobiles.
Since purchase of my 2010 C63 (Steel Grey & CPO'ed), i've already been bit by the mod bug, ...it never really left me, I just tried to hold out for as long as I could. But I recently bought a set of Modulare wheels and am now looking for lowering advice/recommendations. As far as "performance" goes, it seems Jerry at Eurocharged is highly talked about and is the way to go. I'm also looking for some subtle aesthetics for the car: front lip, diffuser, etc... I've been known for building some crazy cars, then never doing anything with them but show them for the business at local Texas car events. I've been termed "Hardparker", so if you see a C63 with HRDPRKR on the plate, ...that's me.
Hope to be here for sometime, and make a few friends along the way.
K, Thanks, Bye!

I could be wrong, but I get the impression that the forum consists of a younger crowd (mostly under 30) and an older crowd (mostly over 40), with not many in their 30s.
I also suspect that the age distribution in this forum will tend to be younger than the age distribution of all C63 owners.
I happen to be in the older crowd, but frankly am finding this forum to be a welcome diversion from more serious matters (and a source of useful information).

Welcome!
I'm lowered on H&R coils, which I really like. There are many options out there, but H&R is a solid mid-range coil.
Please, please, please tell me you're going to do some sort of interesting vinyl wrap to your C63. If you work in vinyl, I'm sure you've got some ideas!

Compared to the other boards, this one is substancially more mature and focused on performance upgrades than the other two MBZ boards I'm on that seem to attract a much younger fast and furious bling bling contigent.
Everyone in their 30's is popping out babies and are stuck driving SUV's

That doesn't mean I won't do it, just means it may be a while.
As far as the H&R coils, ...that seems to be the popular choice. I have seen some refer to a pad of sorts to raise the rear a bit? some use it and some don't? what's this all about? My guess is i'll wait for the wheels to come in, install them, and if i'm not happy, i'll lower it.
I tend to start a project off slow (wheels, springs, exhaust, etc...), trying to keep myself in check, ...then next thing you know I drop 25k+ on it (new wheels, coilovers, engine mods, audio, interior, exterior, etc...) and then sell it a year later. (at least that's what happened 3x with the Subarus & one S2000)

Welcome aboard Greg and congrats on your C63. I am also a former Subaru WRX owner, bought my Sonic yellow WRX back in September of 2002 and have been on Nasioc since early 2003 as well. Take care!

For the record, I'm in my thirties and we have little kids and no SUV for me!
And there's at least one other message board some of us hang out in (which I'm not allowed to plug here) and it's not F&F.
Welcome OP, congrats on the beast
You better get some pics up pronto
And don't listen to Duane, this place is not the end all be all!

Welcome Greg, I'm also fairly new to the forum and this is also my first AMG. I have owned many mustangs, my last was a Cobra with lots of mods. Still have a soft spot for mustangs but love the C63. Looked at the E63 but not as much fun as the C63 (louder, rougher...). Your gonna love this car! Finding lots of good advice on the forum.
PS: Shout out to the older crowd (40's)!
