In australia the C63 is about $157k on road, which at current FX is about US$146k. Sounds expensive but thats about $10-20k cheaper than an M3 or RS4. The CLK63 was about A$250k and the CLKBS went for A$336k. I reckon that if the car actually does make it to Australia it will be around $200-225k.

It could offer more power to justify a higher price, but Benz's internal segment-placing HP numbers seem to ignore the market of one particular model in favor of fitting their offering in place with the rest of their own line-up. That may be in this case because they think that the GT-R buyer isn't their target.
BTW - for God's sake MB, if you take out the rear seats on this one, please don't forget to also take out the over-head rear handles! /vent
Renderings look great though. My BS will welcome its new brother should it come to my 'hood. Then I will pick on him mercilessly as brothers do.

We can't say at this point that it will follow in the CLKBS' footsteps and come to the US or be like the SLK55BS and stay abroad. (Did it make it down-under?). But I think that if it does make it here, MB will have learned a bit from the huge price difference the CLKBS had over the CLK63 cab (and resulting slow-moving inventory). So I don't see a 140k US price tag on this one. On the other side, 100k seems to good to be true.

C63 Coupe Black Series - 507Hp
Very dissappointed!
So basically all AMG did was transplant their CLK63 BS engine into the new C63 chassis? Hopefully they can compensate this lack of HP with a lighter weight C63 BS chassis maybe somewhere around 3300-3400lbs?

i think there is too much talking about horsepower here.
Have you ever been to the race track with your C63 ??
The car has alot problems but not the horsepower
1.) Car is too heavy (weighted mine 1800kg no driver)
2.) Handling: too much understeer
3.) Hard to get the power at the ground
4.) Brakes suck big time
Last week i've been to the Hockenheimring and the Porsches and Evos been driving circles around me.
The car has too much understeer in slow / medium corners
When you apply throttle you get alot oversteer and tire slip
The brakes started to fade after 3 laps and where gone after 6-7 quick laps. Even the paint at the brake pad carrier was meltet and car was smoking like on fire
So overall we dont need more power in our C63's - we need better handling and better brakes!

How many track days has your car seen? We've beaten the crap out of C63's during the Performance events at Mt Tremblant and the cars never even displayed the smallest tendency to fade
These are 4 door street sedans so if you wanna hang with Porches at the Hockenheimring then you have to do some upgrades including coilovers/brakes/tires.....
If EVO's are lapping you then that might be more of a talent thing then the car's weaknesses
More Horsepower always helps...but thats just my opinion

a car that gets very poor gas mileage.
I like the numbers on the "Official" C63 Black Series.
MB usually lists slower times than what their AMG cars can actually do.
0-100kmh in 4.2sec...it might do sub 4-seconds.
I wonder what the lap times are on the Nordschleife.
Speaking of Nordschleife...
If anyone saw the F1 race this past weekend, at the Nurburgring, you would have seen the new C63 Black Series.
You would have also seen Lewis Hamilton in his McLaren dominate the race. Oh yeah, there's a Mercedes motor in his car.

it could be seen as that..Then you could go out and source the parts and say "hey i saved like 70,000 dollars"
or it could be seen as a e63 coupe with widebody..and you can say
"hey i saved 50,000 by buying this e"

Man, if we could get them for sub $100K, we'd be buying a lot more of them...
Makes me envious of our 'Merican buddies... Our Orstralian prices bring tears to your eyes...

First off, WHAT A CAR. Looks great, and the sound of that V8 is to die for.
Now, what's with all these bashings about it not having "enough" power? If you wanted a full-on track car, get the signature series on the AMG website. From what I recall, the BS was meant to be a slighty-track tuned version of the C63 AMG, which STILL functions as a "useable" Daily Driver, just like the CLK63BS was to the CLK63. Jeremy quoted that it's doesn't handle like a GTR, it's not as pantomiming to look at like a Zonda nor does it go really fast as...something else? But it's meant to be a FUN car with DD capabilities. With that in mind, 510 bhp, equate to roughly 400 or so whp, which from experience is a gooooooood amount of power for a DD. Those of you guys with track experience would be able to handle more power, but I think that MB's target for the BS aren't track-sters; but rich men who have extra money in their pockets. I think that the BS is meant to be a show-stopper, not a full-time track machine. But hey, that's just my opinion.
And I would have to agree with Fastinslowout, I doubt the C63 AMG needs more power. Top Gear (online review) tested the P31 C63 vs regular C63 and found that the latter was the "better" track car choice. The last thing this BS needs is more power, but a better handling. This could be a new direction for all upcoming BS's in the future perhaps, who knows?

EuroCharged 2012 C63 BS Coupè
SUB 7:50 @ Nürburgring Nordschleife
At The Night of the Stars Gala Launch of the new BS there was a lot of talk by those in the know (Ola Kallenius) of this car running sub 7:50 around the ring. Anything south of 8 minutes is a very elite club in my book.

+1 i agree. We have seen a recurring trend that MB undderates there newer models, they say a p31 package puts out 481 hp and we have seen them keep up with a tuned non p31 which supposedly has around 530 540ish depending on your tune, and we all seen the video of the 2012 cls 63 kicking a tuned c63s *** up and down a freeway in dubai and it was rated to have a 0-60 time of 4.4 no different then a c63s. Im not an expert in the slighest but who knows maybe they are undderrating this car like some of there other newer releases, one can always hope

C63 AMG
Considering the CLK 63 BS ran a 7:45, I would seriously hope the new C63 BS could achieve at least the same or better.

100k fully optioned sounds about right for the US market. We all know the car will be worth 70k in 4 years just like the CLK BS, regardless if you can get it new for 90k or 140k.
