C63 Questions from Future Owner
Hi everyone. While driving by a MB dealership over the weekend, I decided to go in and check out the C63 AMG. I am completely floored at the jaw-dropping performance to the point where I have decided to pull the trigger and make the purchase. In fact, the very next day I went to test-drive the M3 to compare the two, and well, it simply did not stack up against the C63 IMO. I have spent the last two days search and reading threads, as well as discussions on the c63 in the m3 forums. I do, however, have some questions that I was hoping some of you could answer:
1. I plan on leasing. I have searched for some relatively recent lease information on the car and didn't come up with anything too concrete. Is it possible to lease a 2011 C63 (MSRP 72k) for less than $1,000? What money factors are people seeing these days?
2. I plan on trading in my 2006 Lexus GS300. I have some cosmetic damage to the car and wanted to know if you all think I should go through my insurance to fix it (approx 1500) or whether that will be a wasted exercise. Kelly BB lists the trade in value of my car at approx 21,000.
3. Should I wait until the end of the year to negotiate a better deal? I read that trunk money may be given towards the end of the year that would lower the MSRP of up to 8%. Or, do you think a deal can be had now, especially since the 2012 C63 will have new interiors?
4. If I want to order a 2012 C63, can I expect any discount off MSRP for the lease?
5. The BMW dealer indicated that the C63 will have a totally new design for 2014. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks all for the help. I have read that money factors on the c63 are pretty terrible, and if I cannot get a good deal then I may be inclined to lease a m3 (which I heard have great rates).
Thanks in advance for any responses!

Exactly the same story for me. Drove by a MB dealer, saw a C63 on the lot, test drove it, instantly hooked, bought it. Well not quite, I too had a look at the M3 at BMW - although not with a salesmen with expertise in future C63 releases - but like you it did not stack up and I was coming from an E46 M3 and was a bit over BMW in general.
Go the C63 you will love it

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm getting too impatient. I feel like there may be an awesome deal if i wait it out, but the problem is that there's no guarantee that dealers will be slashing prices on 2011 C63's. Decisions decisions! I'm about ready to buy one. This is driving me nuts!

Wait till year end. There are always deals around. If you plan to leave it stock and drive the lease allowed miles, then lease it. Otherwise consider a purchase if you're going to get the mod bug which is highly contagious. If you do lease one I highly recommend you quit this board immediately so God may have mercy on your eternal soul.

when you say at the end of the year you really mean to say NOW right? LOL. God help me. going through this forum every day and immersing myself into this car isn't helping.
Really though, how long to wait? Aug? Sept? Oct? Nov?(bday present for me!). There aren't THAT many C63's. In a 500mile radius, there are only 22 new and a handful of CPO.
I'll be waiting on the EDubya thanks!

It's not the end of year but rather Jun to Aug for the Trunk Money (14%-20+% off MSRP, 8% off is more like invoice price). Instead of leasing, I recommend you to look for a CPO and finance. As far as I know, the C63s are very well built and hardly any major problems reported, so getting a used one will fit your budget nicely. Let say you find a nice one for $50k with your current car at $20k, that's $30k left over which you can finace for 3 years and keep payment below $1000. And in 3 years time, you can save up for the new model .
Hope this helps,

So yeah, same day that I test drove an M3, I walked 5 steps to MB, went inside and jaw dropped. Pointed and yelled," I want that one!" Didn't even bother test driving and went ahead and ordered a new one to my specifications. 5 months later, MB Gods delivered my baby.

I would only lease if putting the car through a business. I did that and my monthly is about $900. I think the money factor was around 0.0023, which is higher than the other C class models.
I got my C63 for $1,600 under invoice, which I think is a fair deal. Waiting until later this year entails the risk that the 2011 models will be scarce or gone, especially if they heavily discount them. And keep in mind that the 2012 model will be a bit different from 2011 (I like the appearance of the 2011 much better, plus I wouldn't buy a car I hadn't test driven first).

If you get this car, you will not regret it. Guaranteed.
FWIW you may want to consider a CPO 2010 model if there are any in your area...or waiting until 2012 and picking up a 2011 CPO...you'll save yourself some major upfront depreciation and still get an almost new car with low miles and full warranty. Either way, you can't lose!
