Hello Everyone,
My name is Chris and I am currently working in Afghanistan. I test drove an 09 C63 in June last year (last time I was home) and fell in love! I am currently looking for an 09 or 10 C63, but have some questions that I am hoping you can help me with. I will be honest and tell you that I am still researching on the forums when I have the time to (which is not much lately). Having a hard time getting past the pics of all the beautiful cars you guys have, so please accept my apologies for my noob'ness in advance.
For 09 the performance package was 030, but provided no increased power output. For 2010 it increased by 30hp from what I have read. My questions are what is the difference in modding the two? I know flashes are available, but is it required or is there much of a benefit for the 2010? Should I hold out for a 2010 rather than an 09?
I was also hoping that owners with experience of both could chime in and give me some feedback on the differences and or feel of both. Thank you all in advance.

I believe it was proven that a tuned P30 2009 is about the same power as a stock P31 2010.
The P31 is said to have some SLS engine parts but they don't affect the performance.
If I were you, I would also look at non-P30/P31 cars. You can always install a Quaife LSD and tune it (e.g. Powerchip offers a tune for $500). Then the only difference would be the suspension - you can lower the car with springs or buy coilovers.

P30 does not have any additional power but does have better brakes, stiffer/lower suspension. LSD, 19" wheels, and an increase speed limiter. For 2010 the P31 does have more HP, increase speed limiter, better brakes, but not the suspension upgrades or LSD. For 2011 - 2012 the LSD was added back into the package. Only problem with a tuned car is your warranty is at risk. Of course if your working in Afganistan risk only relative.
