W204 engine belt failure? (Roebling Road Track Day)
I've already searched the forum and didn't come up with much info. Has anyone heard about consistent issues with engine belt failure on C63? Rumor from dealer is there was a track event at Roebling Road Savannah in 2010 and as many as 8 63's had belt failure.
Trying to figure out what this issue is all about and whether to replace engine belt at 23K miles.

We have tracked Roebling Road, Sebring multiple times, and Homestead and have not had a single belt failure. Not sure where they got their info from. I do carry a spare everywhere we go because I'm not getting stranded because we lose one but never once lost one on the track.

I got a similar email with a specific warning about after market pulleys, and advice to check all belts. I was at the event in 2010, and there was one serpentine belt failure on a 63. The guy had an aftermarket pulley, which I do not doubt was the issue. I never heard about 8 failures - I am not sure there were even eight 63's there.
If you are running the stock pulley, I wouldn't worry about it.
