Talking Launch question.

hey guys,
My buddy wants to race his mustang gt against my 63. What is the ideal gear to be in while going 25-40 mph to launch the car with full brute force? i really want to embarrass him. Btw his mustang is 2010 so it doenst have the new 5.0 but he still thinks he can hang with me because his "gear ratio" is better and he drives a manual lol.

You could start in 5th and beat it!! Just what ever speed your at pull the left paddel itll go into the lowest gear possible

ok nice.. thanks for the tip. I never drive the car in manual but i think its time to start.

Just pointing out that you don't have to have your car in Manual to take advantage of the TCU's ability to change gears with the paddles.

Turn TC off, keep it in Sport trans mode, and drive to your desired roll speed then hold the left paddle down and the TCU will drop the trans into the lowest possible gear--at 25 mph, that will likely be 2nd gear.

Like Dodger said, the race won't be close.
