Quote: The body shop was not done with it when I had to leave for Roebling road so he quickly put color on it so it didn't look terrible. Its back at the body shop getting the fenders finished and all painted to match the car with clear etc..... Hopefully next week.
Nice, Dads. Look forward to seeing the finished shots with the car in its street trim. Quite the monster you've built - great work so far.

Attaboy Boost! Call 'em like you see 'em.

I wanna love it, but I'm with Booster. Looking like the Frankfurt Frankenstein.
If that was going on with another manufacturers car, we'd be trashing it.

From what I've read tho, Dad is damn smart and I've got hope that this project will make like the Jonas Brothers and all pull together.

Wow...that looks really good.

So, just wondering...how much will something like this cost? On the MHP website, it says roughly 125 hours of man labor. And, I'm guessing this doesn't include the materials. Any estimates?

I might have to seriously consider this after I come back from my overseas deployment.

I can have a trunk ready to ship with 2-3 weeks. I have one hood and no trunks left in stock. Just let me know and I can get one coming.

You have to remember that a conversion like this is incredibly time consuming. Dave did make templates for the changes it takes so he could replicate it if desired. He does have well over 100 hours and its all steel welded in place. The only putty is used to smooth things out and the finishing touches. Its as sturdy if not stronger than the stock fenders. He makes a new metal inner fender that is glued and welded in place. Many small cool things that he does that makes this conversion incredible. He modifies the rear quarter panels so he can use the stock rear bumper. He repaints both rear quarter panels, side rocker panels, and rear bumper. In order to replicate this it would cost close to $10,000. That includes all the labor and materials. Then you have new wheels and tires but its all worth it. Some will step up and pay the price and others will move on and make other modifications. All I can tell you is that its functional and cosmetic. I was able to run 315-30 Hoosiers on 11" wheels with the KW suspension at its lowest setting with no rubbing.

Let me know if you need more information.
Thanks again!!

Thanks for the reply and explanation. 10k sounds reasonable for all the work that you mention. Did you notice any handling issues with the wider tires in the rear? Looking at the pictures, the front tires seem so small now. Hah.

This is something I will have to definitely consider when I get back.

Just got an update today guys. You know what I know.

Today I want to update you on our progress for the C63 fenders.

We finally managed to get this customer C63 vehicle into our garage for the end of this year until beginning of January (2 weeks while customer is in vacation).
At this vehicle we will develop the new forms and templates for the wider fenders estimated until January 9 / 2012.
Also we would create an installation guide for the fenders while creating the new version.

We estimate to be able to deliver the series parts in Fiber and Carbon from end of January 2012.

If this customer will agree, we will further create a “Black Series” looking like body kit at his car and
then we will be able to Provide even a full body kit for the C63 limousine looking similar to the new Mercedes Black Series.

I really hope that things now will move forward faster since many customers already waited for so long.

From today there will be a test report for our C63 on motorvision.de and hopefully soon in English as well on motorvision.com
Please check.

I wish a merry Christmas time to you and your family.

kind regards

I just read a post yesterday on BB that said they are working on the wider body kit but no ETA was given. The post was actually about a diffuser that wraps under the rear of the car to be more aerodynamic. The diffuser looked good and had a pic of the older wide-body kit installed as well.
