2012 C63 (On the way)
I am not sure yet. I spoke to this guy Oliver over there and he told me there was a package where they add the chip, take away the top speed, add 80 horsepower, and away I go. One day install. Take it there in the morning and leave at night. Now if I have them add the limited slip then it will be longer.. Not sure i am going to touch the exhaust until I have the car for a few months...

I also finally received my vin today. Here is the word from my dealer. The German or European spec models have already had their release date.. However, the american specs were supposed to be launched on August 28 (my original delivery), but now go pushed back to Sept 7th.. That is why anyone with an american spec will not get there car until after that date when they are launched. This is coming straight from the factory and my dealer who is in relations with them in Germany... Hope this helps.. I also agree, that i have just accepted that it is what it is at this point. I will get it when I get it.

I just talked to my dealer and finally have a date! The dealer liason said that if I wanted the performace pack but without one of the AMG specific body panels they could build it in october (WTF kind of option is that?) otherwise the first decade in November is my build date with all my options.

Btw, do you know if they offer the lower part of the dash in leather as well? It was an option for the pre-facelift through Performance studio, but have not seen it on the website yet and have not spoken to AMG directly yet (dealer is clueless on that).

Jycke, did you order the upper part of the dash in leather? This is usually the part that is installed at AMG. However, I thought that ordering it before build (and not as an add on once the car is ready, which means you have to take the interior apart) would let them install it at factory and eliminate the 3-week waiting time that you usually get when leaving the car in Affalterbach. I wonder what they are doing with it in Affalterbach otherwise.

Okay, I have a question that maybe some of you can answer. Why does Merc put claim its a 6.3, but when I watch top gear, road and track, or any other car video or mag, they always call it a 6.2? I never got it..

why are you talking about this in this thread? it has nothing to do with 2012 order information, just saying.

Really man? Maybe because I have been in this thread for a months now talking to people that I met, like, and trust their opionion. Like Jycke, Calisun, Enochroot, etc... Does it really matter if I asked ONE question that is off topic to see if someone that I speak to on a regular basis can answer a question for me. You must be having a bad day to even wast a minute of your time to criticize me. By the way you must be new to this thread. I know your 21 and study chemical engineering, so I am assuming that your not that stupid to really question the motives of a 5x tour special forces soldier who has been undercover behind enemy lines and seen and lived through more sh** then you will ever will in your entire lifetime. Come on KID. Keep your thoughts to yourself and don't get in my business.

I appreciate your experiences in life, Im not having a bad day at all. Asking an off topic question is fine in these threads, I just know that a quick search in the forum and lots of other threads have that particular question and discussion. Maybe you will be able to meet new members there too. Sorry for sounding bitter, it just seemed like a logical question to search and be addressed elsewhere.

Thank you for the mature response back and apologizing. I just didn't expect to be criticized for asking questions. Let's move past this and continue the thread..

"The M156 displaces 6,208 cc (6.208 L; 378.8 cu in) and shares very little with other Mercedes-Benz engine families like the M155. The bore spacing, block design, and other features are unique to the AMG engine.
Although it displaces 6.208 liters, the engine will be marketed as the "6.3" to commemorate the famed M100 engine, Mercedes' first production V8. It displaced 6.3L"
That quote was ripped off from:

I just think C63 sounds better then C62.
Off topic but who cares.
Hurry up everyone and get back to impatiently waiting for your cars!

Winter is upon us in Finland in a couple of months. I decided to keep the E63 with its airmatic and take the C63 in the spring. It's gonna be used as a "floor" car in some dealership with the doors locked until i pick it up. Fine by me..no fun during the winter anyway

Hi, new to this forum. Thinking of trading in my M3 for a 12 C63. I love the idea of custom ordering one and don't mind the wait, but as I've always bought from dealer stock, not sure how the process works! (in the USA, in particular) Specifically, how much $ down at the time of order, and is this refundable? Has anyone had success negotiating down from the sticker price, and when can this be done? It seems like a customer wouldn't have any leverage to negotiate if a non-refundable deposit is put down.. Any help you guys can give me is appreciated!

[QUOTE=CaliSun;4798589]Wow, sorry to hear that! The worst part about the waiting was not knowing a date or if it would be possible to get one in the time I needed so I know how that feels. I hope they manage to get you one![/QU
Yeah waiting and not knowing the date, is no fun, but tomorrow I will phone Amg head office and see what they have to say.
Your spec is looking good.
