Performance in the 1/4 the C63 wins. Performance on the track the BS wins.

I'm not into drag racing and therefor know little about it. But your post doesn't make sense to me. I'm sure you know much more about the drag strip than I do and have a couple of questions in regards to both cars.

They share the same engine, and a tune would respond to both platforms the same in my opinion. Maybe ever so slightly better on the CLK, since it has a more free flowing exhaust from the factory. Let's forget about headers and the rest of the exhaust for now, since there are many different companies offering different header designs. Not to mention any names, but some are better for the 1/4 where others are better for maximum power at the upper rpm range suited for a road course.

Both cars weight about the same stock. The only disadvantage I can see on the CLK is the suspension setup. Since it's designed for a road course, it would be too stiff, especially in the back. This makes the car harder to launch, because for traction the suspension needs to squat. Like I said, I'm a novice when it comes to the 1/4, but it seems to me all one would have to do is bring the ride height up a bit and make the shocks softer. Since the car comes with coilovers, not a particular difficult thing to do. I also don't think the wide body would have a negative effect on the speed the 1/4 is run. There might be more involved, but that's all I can think of.

Again, I have very little knowledge when it comes to drag racing, hence the question.
