Question re: ESP Sport, and shifting

Quick question.

I generally drive in Manual mode, with ESP in Sport. I have an '11 with P31 and LSD.

When throwing the car into a corner to get a little slide happening, how do you counteract the ESP cutting the power? I find that even in Sport, I get that fraction of a second delay where the ESP is cutting power. Do you downshift during the turn? Or is the answer to take the ESP off altogether?

Thanks.

esp off, with the esp in sport it will still cut off some of the power.

You'd better be ready to handle your car with ESP off cause the safety net is off. Too much throttle and you'll be doing doughnuts.
I am not saying not to do it but be prepared. I would try it on a curve with room around the curve for a few times to get an idea on how the car works.
Maybe you have already been to AMG class or similar and you are fine but otherwise, I am just warning you.

Mercedes C63 amg, Bmw X5,
I do it daily. Every single day I turn off my esp at least couple times to do some nice curves. Actually I think lately I am getting better and better at it. Will do a video of some nice drifting once my tires wear off.
