Also CHP on Desoto ave. Sometimes the CHP just eyeballs it from 25ft and sometimes there's this old man wannabe retired cop volunteer that will actually tug on it and said no zipties...

Good to know, unfortunately I was out in San Fernando and the ticket says to go back out there to get it signed off. I am hoping the rho-plate comes in next week or else I might have to do the double stick or something else. Has anyone used museum putty? I'd imagine that's not too good for your car either.

I'm actually going to order the rho-plate as I know I'm going to get another no front plate ticket. Glad you started this thread.
I'll save it for a rainy day. All of the double sided *****, tape, putty, twist ties, will only work if you get a lazy officer.
I'm assuming taking the rho-plate off is as easy as putting it on?

Just in case anyone out there is going through the same fix-it ticket headache.
I am happy to report that Rh-plate got the job done. Most people were correct, they do really inspect these things thoroughly and even told me how stupid they think the front license plate requirement is (wasn't expecting that).
I was able to easily and cleanly install the plate close to the front bumper to make it look as flush as possible and it didn't look as bad in person as I had thought.
enochroot - You can lay off the ******, go with the plate.

Are you leaving it on or taking it back off
I'm assuming it's as easy to take off as it was to put it on, it doesn't leave any marking that there was a front plate installed?

Enochroot it's a screw on screw off type of a deal. I did apply some scotch tape around the edges of the plate because of the way I fitted it. I didn't want to take any chances, just in case it rubbed or something during my OH SO LONG drives lol. It allows you to fit it a few different ways as well so you can chose how to fit it.
I think I'm going to leave it on for now because it doesn't look too bad tbh.

Good to hear the tow hook plate solution is working for you. I have the gominigo and I like it. It looks a little odd off of centre but I get a lot of positive comments and everyone likes the individuality of it on he AMG. I put a CF frame on mine (front and rear) to dress it up a bit.

Do what I did, cut off two screw heads and glue them over the screw holes, then use a two sided tape to hold the plate on. Once you get the signatures on the fix it ticket you can pull the plate off as the cop is walking back in .

Then the next time, you get pulled over, they check your history, and see the you had a previous fix-it-ticket, and fine you double. Brillant.....

Cops discretion for fix-it ticket or fine. Sometimes they even ask what I want. There is no record of fix-it tickets. I've done about 12 front plate window tint fix-it tickets and only been fined once for tint 77 bucks, which will double next time all in 10 years.

What I do - put double stick tape on the back of the plate at the very top. Drive to the police station, but hop out as I get close and slap the plate on the front. Drive slow and park near the front. Walk in, say I need to get a front plate signed off. The offcier walks out, sees the plate, signs the ticket. I drive off slowly, hop out at the corner, and take the plate off.
the $10 fix it is worth the risk to not have an ugly plate, bracket, or holes on my front bumper.

If you get signed, they knock $10 off...but this is the land of Jerry Brown(when he was mayor) and this is just another way to tax the citizens of CA.

Great idea...but...
My license plate bracket broke altogether and finding one like yours (which is like what I had) is next to impossible. Please tell me you had to buy that somewhere and you know where you got it? Thanks in advance.

I tried the tow hook and did not prefer the look. I then modified the original bracket to snug under the bumper with stainless zip ties. Also notched the license frame so it would bend to match the bracket. Much preferred...

I'm using 3M auto molding tape to hold my front license plate in the center of the bumper. I bent the plate a little to match the contour of the bumper. Almost three years no issues.

When I got a fix-it-ticket for no front plate in Texas, they only required a picture of a front mounted plate to be sent in along with a fee. I just slapped some double sided tape on the plate, stuck it on the bumper for the picture and then removed it
