wow, sick colour and finish . hmm im planning on getting mine done too, im in the toronto area and im hoping some of you guys know a place i can get them painted. well a place or some one who will do so and the price if possible. im looking for a proper professional "finish" if possible lol beside powder coating.

i know some places paint the calipers while they are still attached onto the car, seems scary but if i aint got a choice :s then that would be my last resort. im still a student and i aint got a place to do it on my own, AND im hopeless at these kind of things. plus this is my first car that i would want to get done

please help

Quote: Hello, just in case you wonder or still need help on your future car, i offer caliper painting and decal attachment service in NJ. Yes, putting a car or logo decal on your caliper after painting is possible. I don't have my own shop or any other things. I do this as my own interest, i've painted my BMW X3, Honda CRV, Porsche 911 2013, Porsche Cayenne, and a Mercedes GLK. For both porsche, i did put "porsche" decal on after painting them.

I would prefer painting a yellow caliper on a dark color car.

Thanks~ feel free to message me for detail(Price, location etc)!
Can you do a CTS-V?

I'm in northern NJ.

Those are the decals that i bought too. The only thing is that the rear caliper decal is curved, and from factory they are not (Even on the 2012). Did you paint the calipers yourself? Any tips? (Feel free to PM me.)

thanks Chris...I actually got them painted at a shop so I am not well versed on the subject. initially the guy told me the AMG symbols were decals/plates on the caliper and could easily be transferred to the new painted calipers...then I find out when all the wheels are off the car in his shop (through a phone call) that they have to paint over them...guy was a douche about it too...last time I ever go back there.

sorry for the rant...good luck on your calipers and thanks for the info.

Those calipers look great fellas...I'm thinking of going mustard or yellow but need a contact in Illinois because no way I know how to take a paint brush to them. I want them sprayed and removed.

Nevertheless they look awesome...

I'm going to give this a shot myself. If it doesn't work, I'll just get them painted professionally, but I just need to know if I can just paint over the stock silver paint or if I have to sand it down and whatnot beforehand. I've read the DIY's, but I think those are all for unpainted, non AMG calipers really. These have obviously already been painted silver before when they come with the car.

Which shop in L.A.
Hey AMG I stay out in L.A. Myself, could uou please recommend me a shop that can do a good job for a fair price?

Quote: I would recommend painting them. If you were in L.A. I would point you to a great shop.

Mine are painted also and it took just shy of 2 hours to get everything done.
After the shop paints the calipers they stick on the decal and spray the clear coat over. Its a fairly simple process.

Quote: Hey guys, I am thinking of getting the brakes done, what is the best method, painting them at a shop with high temp paint, or powder coating them? i've heard that the amg logo can be reapplied with high heat decals, if this is true please verify as well... does anyone have any good shops in the nj area that will do the job?

also... red or yellow? my cars all blacked out.

thanks for the help in advance
Just a heads up gents , you don't need high temp paint for calipers they don't get very hot , rotors do !!!! Our V8 supercar teams just use a 2pk enamel paint . If your callers are reaching 900 degrees you have a serious issue ok .
