Interesting observations. I am also coming to a C63 ( PP coupe on order arriving Dec) from a 335i and then an RS4. My 335i was very possibly the most disappointing car I have ever owned. Disappointing because it promised so much, but delivered so little in terms of real driving satisfaction. I found the steering glutinous. The manual gearbox was slow. The suspension with run flat tyres was a mess. On anything other than billiard table surfaces the car would skittle sideways hopping across mid corner bumps under duress. And whilst it was reasonably quick, it sounded utterly dull. BMW had refined all the character out the thing. It was a clinical, sanitized sports coupe.
Sports cars/sports sedans ought to have character. They should feel like the steering is connected to something. The engine ought to sound special. If there are handling vices they should at least be predictable. RS4 manages all of these things. C63 does the same with nearly 50% more torque and glorious oversteer. That why I bought one.

I didn't DISLIKE my 335. Not at all. I enjoyed it a fair bit but I did keep wondering why as a guy who loves to drive I didn't love that car. It is so extremely capable, and can do so much with such ease. And I do think it's just because it had no 'flavor'. I too hated the run-flats, and think that having those on was too big a sacrifice to avoid having a spare. People who don't think tires make a difference to a cars character should drive a 335 with and without RFT's. If they still feel that way afterwards, they should be sentenced to a lifetime of driving first generation Hyundai's.

335 is a great car, but I just didn't fall in love w it too. The C63, I love very much. Had an e46 m3 and 335 at the same time, and every morning, I just felt like getting on the M3 and not the 335.

Congrats. I would also add that I wish these cars came in manuals. Oh well i love my car.

I wish it came with a real dual clutch transmission.
