How are your seats holding up??

Petty as it may be, this is something that really concerns if I'm going to buy a C63 in the spring. I feel like the bolstering on the upper seat cushion is just extremely aggressive and would be subject to rapid wear when entering and exiting the vehicle on a daily basis. I'm very conscientious about getting in and out of the car, but I feel like it would be almost unavoidable in this car and it kind of annoys me, as I like to keep my cars pristine.

Are you guys noticing any excessive wear such as weathering away of the top coat (leaving it appearing glossy) or even cracking? How many miles do you have?

Thanks,
Matt

What worries me more is the bolsters for your thigh getting worn because when you get in and out you will most likely rub those but you can avoid the side bolsters.

The problem is the leather is not particularly high quality to begin with. IMO it won't hold up well over the long haul no matter how careful you are.

It's nappa leather it's supposed to wear with use like most any leather. Quality seems high to me, I mean it's not like the 90s benz leather that was +1/4" thick but its def nice. You talking about 'normal' wear or abnormal

I use MB Leather cleaner every few weeks as I have the beige seats and so far, so good. You must treat the leather regularly to keep it in top shape.

Side bolsters are a bit used on mine after about 23000km. Don't think they'll hold up in the long run. With the amount of times I get in and out, the stitching is getting more used too.

Nothing horrible but not perfect... I used to worry about these things, but now that I have 2 kids, I say to myself it's "just a car".

My car is 3 months old, has 9000km (5000 miles) and I recently noticed some premature wear on the left bolster. I showed it to my dealer and he agreed it was premature wear. He put a note in my file and said to wait a little until it got worse and he'd put in a new seat if it got worse.

I'm not fat and I don't wear anything that could have accelerated this...

Just normal every day entries and exits with dress pants or jeans...

My L side bolster is fine but the L thigh bolster looks heavily wrinkled, somewhat like your photo but running the length of the bolster. It happened early also, but hasn't gotten any worse in the last 15k+ miles. I now Lexol that area once every three months.

Buddy had a 2010 C63 and the leather wore quickly even with him being very careful about getting in/out. I personally think the leather is pretty low quality. Have noticed the exact same behavior in the SL63.

I also think it matters if you guys park the car in a garage or not.

mine's a 2010 and it's starting to show signs of wear. I'm going to treat it with some leather conditioner this week to see if it helps the situation.

This is a big concern for alot of C63, I've found that being proactive when entering and exiting the vehicles helps, so does applying leather conditioner. But wear is inevitable, but can be mitigated.

Looks dry, though...do you have leather conditioner?

Mine is a daily driver. In and out 2-3 times a day. The left side bolster looks prematurely worn.

Doesn't take long to dry out, think of your skin to a certain extent. My armrest shows a grey mark after about two weeks, where I rest my arm. After using the MB leather conditioner it is gone.

Thanks for the honest replies yall! I wish Mercedes would offer some less aggressive sport seat...I just think the bolstering is way beyond overkill for a car intended to be used on a regular basis.

i dunno, i still love how the blosters hug you, wouldn't change a thing about the seats. One of the many reasons i fell in love with the C63

if you think about it, 400+hp is overkill for daily driving

Here's mine at 18k. No real wear at all on the upper bolster, and very minor on the lower. I also get in and out multiple times daily. I have my Memory 1 set for me, and when I get in, and out I have Mem 3 set to go all the way back, and down. I use Leatherique Pristine Clean Weekly, and Leatherique Rejuvinating Oil monthly.

Oh well you know....a bit of overkill here and there never hurt anybody.

I think my C55 seats do a great job of keeping me situated. Wish something similar was available as a no-cost option.

Leatherique FTW! Been apart of my detailing arsenal for awhile now.

Open door.
Put seat back.
Turn 90 degrees left.
Stick out your ***.
Drop your *** in.
Lift legs and turn right 90 degrees.
Close door and set memory.
Smirk as you turn on ignition.
