Don't we all brother, I believe that Steve would sell it to me somewhere in the neighborhood of $85K. As we have talked about this several time. This cars as you know are mint, very low miles on the BS.

The other points from other BS owners have already been covered. The CLKBS would make a great daily driver. While mine is not, it is certainly no garage queen either.

I think you would be happier with the C63 as a daily driver. I love the BS but it has a stiffer suspension and is lower to the ground which will make it difficult to get in and out of certain parking lots, ramps, speed bumps, etc.
The C63 seat 5 too. It is up to you but you need to ask yourself the questions about the type of driving etc. My C63 is my daily driver.

It would make no sense to buy a CLK BS for $80K when you can get a brand new C63BS for 10K more
There was one for sale in my neighborhood by dealer for $65K a few months ago. There are rare but you can find them. There is a CPO one with 12K miles asking 75K. CLK63BS will have a hard wake up call in about 6 months when the new C63BS arrives in dealership.
I suspect the prices will drop substantially. If I were you, I would wait till the new C63BS comes out.
Drive all 3 (regular C63 coupe, CLKBS and C63BS) and then make up your mind.

I love the wide body look of the CLK63 BS. but the technology and the performance of the new C63 coupe makes the old CLK seem very outdated. I'd go with a new C63, p31 or not, over a used CLK63 BS.

We shall see but if it is more than 90K, they will flop like the previous CLKBS.
There is just too much competition. Even at 100K, I would rather spend 20K more to get a new car that will be much better performance wise than a CLKBS.

Wow, first time I have ever heard of the CLK BS referred to as a flop? Regardless I am still not sure if the OP meant C63 or C63 BS? Buying a low mileage CLK BS instead of a new C63 for similar money is a realistic alternative that would come down to buyer preference. I would agree to wait until the new BS hits the streets and see if and how resale for the CLK BS is affected.

Aaron Robinson from car and driver summed up very well:
I like racer and pace-car replicas, and a knockoff of an F1 safety car is even niftier, especially one with the liveliest engine and handling of any AMG to shade my driveway. But I'm not in the target market of Benz fanatics, so it's tough to see more than a CLK350 with $91,000 in upgrades. Walking past a thoroughbred Aston Vantage or a state-of-the-art Audi R8 would be very hard, indeed.
MB sold 367 BS in the US when it came out. IMHO, it is a sales flop.
If the car comes at $115K USD, mark my words, it will be a sales flop again.
You can chose between a brand new 911S or GTR that will out perform the BS. You can also chose a CTV or M3 and still have money for a Ford Raptor or a boxster.
My original point stands: wait till the new BS comes in the states. Drive all 3 AMGs and make up your mind.
Don't let us make the decision for you. That would not be wise.

They only planned to make 367 CLKBS for the US, it's a Black Series. A flop? I guess that's why some of the best racecar drivers own this particular car, because it's just a big overpriced turd.
On that note, why bother buying a C63 when you can get a regular C class for $30K less? A few suspension tweaks and a bigger engine is all, right?

First, all BS models so far have been limited production runs that were never intended to be sold in the same quantities as the standard production cars like you and I have. They are "halo" cars that exist to promote the brand just as the LFA does for Toyota. Whether MB has the same objective for the new C63 BS will be known once the pricing and performance capabilities are established. In this case they may be specifically trying to enhance the C class rather than the entire brand.
Regarding the other cars:
M3-GTS is a very limited production BMW, not available in the US with a stroker motor and sold for ~ $150,000 so I don't think I could buy one and have money left over for a "Cayman convertible" which doesn't even exist That would be a Boxster by the way.
While I agree about the GTR's performance, a 911 S is not in the same category more like a GT3 which is right in the same price point that the new BS will fall but is very lacking in streetable attributes.

No need for personal attacks...
Regarding the "flop" comment, you are missing my point. I am not saying the car's performance and attributes is a flop. I am saying the price point is a flop and that showed in the sales history of the car.
You are correct on the M-3. I was thinking of a 911GTS. I corrected my first statement.
On the cayman, you are correct as well. This time, I was the one smoking
About the 911S, I disagree. It has the same performance as the new BS (straight line or on the track) and is a direct competitor. It did the ring as fast as the outgoing GT3.
