C63 vs. BOSS 302
#27
The November issue of Evo magazine has a comparison test with the C63 Coupe, Boss 302, M3 and RS5. Tested on the same day under the same conditions with the same drivers, the C63 beat the Boss:
1/4 mile - C63 12.9 @ 113.1, Boss 13.0 @ 112.5
0-120 - C63 14.5, Boss 15.8
1/4 mile - C63 12.9 @ 113.1, Boss 13.0 @ 112.5
0-120 - C63 14.5, Boss 15.8

+1 It doesn't happen on this site...
Yep that's more like it
Ahh we finally agree on something
Seriously, why do when people post up kill stories... you always have people saying.. "oh, the other drivers must miss shifted..", "oh, look at this link/review/magazine, our cars are not actually as fast you think..."
Instead of congrats the poster, i always see bs about dissing our own cars.
Come the fk on guys, the OP beat a 302. GREAT!! why rain on someone's parade.

No of course not.. in THAT test they used an Indy driver in the Boss and a 12 year old in the C63.

After the M156, the 6.1 Hemi sounds very nice, then the 5.0 Cayote, and finally the LS3.

What trans mode where you in when you launched?
I have to say I'm impressed that you were able to get a good launch with a C63 on the street. I find it to be very difficult to get a good launch, although it is possible, but unfortunately, you have to roll into the throttle so slow that the only way to start pulling on an equally fast car is to gain on them at higher speeds (like over 60-70 mph).
Also, I think the Mustang had an advantage in this race because the car already starts out lighter weight and with the additional passanger, it could help that car get better traction during the launch.
You must have had a good run, which is great.

I will give the Mustang props because it is a driver's race between it and the C63.
I'm not sure what C63 you're driving, but the C63 is not a car that you will win a lot of races from digs on the street. It doesn't hook on street tires that are not warmed up.

Hats off to the OP for winning the day during his encounter.
However a few seconds of accelerating on a public street doesn't tell the whole story. One thing for sure about these forums is the home team always wins. Any realistic conversation where another car performs well is not wanted here. You saw how the crowd reacted to the times you posted. I personally want the truth and not just what we can all read (and quote) from magazines. Spend enough days at road courses and you will get a pretty good idea of what other cars are and aren't capable of. Most of the other drivers I meet are stunned by how well the Merc performs which initiates some great conversation amongst guys who love cars period. Try and imagine the forum conversation going like that? It just doesn't happen which is a shame because we all miss out when dissenting opinion is squashed.

If there is a wall for the 302 it is beyond 150 mph. The one that was at our last track weekend was able to hit straight away speeds within 5 mph of my car with tune and headers. And that was with me in his passenger seat while my car had no passenger seat and a 15 pound Sparko driver seat.

As far as "reckless", some buddies of mine went to the bar destroyed our table when too many girls started dancing on it (pretty jokes watching 10 girls fall in heels[no one got hurt though, incase you ask ])) got kicked out then while walking back in a group started causing more public damages and acting stupid young.
Besides that thanks for the congrats everyone! For those of you who think I shouldve lost I probably wouldve if he were using his TRACK KEY jks. The Boss 302 is a wicked car, I guess I was just fortunate to race one with the wrong driver! or maybe it was just my AMG that ran itself perfectly. Ill never know, nor ever really care!

No, I dont drink and drive! Too early to feel hungover, I was just still feeling great from the night before and eager to chirp, race, and make the guy feel like the "Putz"(taken from another thread) I felt he was.

Now I question if you won at all.
