is that true? -_-?

It can go lower by 20mm (a bit more than ¾ of an inch) both front and rear. I’d do it if I didn’t carry back seat passengers now and again and if I didn’t mind the occasional rubbing.

As far as the setup of the KW V3 is concerned, there is plenty of info on the web. Google it as I’m no expert or go to another suspension shop and get their advice. Even try contacting KW direct. It seems strange to me that you can set it at your desired height only to have it drop of its own accord.

From your list of cars I could say the same about you.

Blake (E55 Bulldog), these are the photos I promised showing the gap between the tyres and fenders with the stock suspension before the coilovers were installed. I hope they help you out. Cheers Steven.

Steve,

Thank you for posting the pictures. Do you think I would be able to increase the overall diameter by going with a 35 front, 30 rear sidewall profile?

It looks like the only space issue would be in the rear. What if I went with a little stretch on the rear with like a 275.

These photos were taken today on my way home from picking the car up after the new KW V3 Coilovers were installed. I’ve been meaning to get them for some time but always found an excuse to be too busy to get it done. Well now I’ve finally pulled my finger out.

I can’t give you an answer without going through the exercise myself.

The difference in overall tyre diameters would be.

Front
235/40R18 25.40 inches 645.16 mm OEM Tyre Size
245/30R20 25.78 inches 654.81 mm My Tyre Size
245/35R20 26.75 inches 679.45 mm Your Suggestion

Rear
255/35R18 25.02 inches 635.50 mm OEM Tyre Size
285/25R20 25.61 inches 650.49 mm My Tyre Size
285/30R20 26.73 inches 678.94 mm Your Suggestion

275/30R20 26.49 inches 672.84 mm Your Alternative Suggestion
275/35R20 27.57 inches 700.27 mm Your Alternative Suggestion

Remember you are also trying to match the front and rear rolling diameters as closely as possible.

Do the maths and measure your car. The sizes you are suggesting will definitely fill out the wheel wells more than stock and possibly offer a more comfortable ride but they may rub.

They may also look huge.

Also, choose some rims you like and then speak to the manufacturers and/or sellers and ask their opinions. There are fluctuations between sizes and their experience in which fitments work best will be invaluable in helping you decide.

They are adjustable, you can have them softer or harder, it’s your choice.
Mine are set harder and offer a rougher ride but it corners like on rails which I love.

No, I actually have not bit the bullet on wheels yet. Im still undecided as of now so I just replaced my 2 rear tires on my stock wheels to buy my some more time on the decision. I also had the shop realignment my car to make the tires ware a bit more consistent. My car had a really high Negative camber on the front and were really waring down the inside inch of my tires. My good old C63 Money Eating Machine.
