Leather dash option cost
I was wondering what was the price for the designo leather dash option on the 2012 C63? (canada preferably)
anyone else ordered this option?

The picture above looks like the standard dash... I didn't know there was a leather dash option. Is this a custom order item? Can anyone point to where it is mentioned on the Mercedes website?

look at the 2:10 mark, the camera pans upwards and you can clearly see the leather dash.
I think it's a designo option (it looks like the equivalent to BMW's individual)
I am really interested in this option

Do not buy this option. The sun and heat destroys them. I had a Porsche with leather dash that failed during the warranty. They replaced it once and it failed too. Finally they replaced it with a standard dash (and refunded me the option cost) as they discontinued the leather dash option even as a replacement.

Sadly, the C63 nappa dashboard is not available in North America - it was not certified.

YYZ is right. It has something to do with airbag deployment certs or something for NA incl Canada. Which is too bad, it looks stunnning, but i find it made more of a difference on the previous pre-2011 dash.

I see what you're saying about the leather dash striking a more noticable difference on the earlier dash... The earlier dash is pretty plain and can be spruced up nicely with leather.

VW R36 (for now)
it's an option here in Aus, referred to as 'Upper Dashboard Section in black designo nappa leather', cost $4990. Looks nice but I'm not sure if its worth the money

No joke. You could try ordering a complete replacement dashboard based on the Euro part number and installing it yourself, but from the factory it's not happening.

The other consideration is that the upper door panels would not be leather, either... so you would have leather dash suddenly stop at the doors and change to plastic. I really wish they offered the leather dash but i suppose finding a good custom shop is easier.
