Wheel Offset Question

What offset do I need in order to get 275 on the rear and 255 on the front. Thanks in advance. Have edition one, 19s are stock.

19x8.5 ET45 front and 19x10 ET55 rear should work based on everything I have read. However, tire selection will be relevant too.

If you are keeping the stock wheels but just changing tread, the 275's are no problem. I know from experience cause that's all I used on my c63. I had 245's on the front, and I'm sure 255's would also be fine. If you are changing wheels widths, then you you will have to use an offset calculator to determine clearance.

ET55 in the back will be tucked in a little too much. Do you have pics of ET55s on yours?

Nope... just from what others have told me, ET55 rear is safe but, as you say, depending on tire, you could maybe go more aggressive.

There is another thread going about this and a million from the past.

Stock 19s,

FRONT: 245/35/19
REAR: 275/30/19

No changing of offset or anything required.

I don't think that one mm will make noticeable difference...stock ET at the rear is 54

If you're going for an aftermarket wheel, you probably don't want the same look as stock...I would want to fill out the wheel wells.....but do as you wish

as long as they are talking a 10 inch wheel an et55 will fill out fine. et50 rubs everywhere on my car with hankooks.

with 275/30 being smaller rolling diameter, would you have a tendancy to spin the rear wheels more? ~ less performance?

(ive experienced this in the past when going with wider tires, and smaller rolling diameter, it sucked)

what about 275/35?

A 275/35 is a full 1.5" greater diameter than stock. I think it will be too much for more than 1 reason such as rubbing, speedo error (6%), variance from front tire diameter and perhaps ecu tolerance.

A 275/30 is .5" greater than the stock tire diameter and is probably as big as you want to go.

oh didn't realize we were talking about the 19" wheels. so are the stock 18's vs stock 19's both using 255/35 on the rear? that's a full inch difference in rolling diameter then? that's weird woild they not have different performance characteristics? or is it engineerd into the car for each size.

The stock rear tires are 255/35 on the 18s and 255/30 on the 19s and are almost an identical diameter of 25.03" vs 25.02".

oh, that makes more sense...
so a 275/30 on the stock 19" would prob be cool then...

another thing,

does anyone know if the AMG black series wheels/tires (i believe a 285 on the rear) can be ordered on the regualr AMG/w/AMG package?

would they fit?

am about to order one and i don't want the skinny 255's on the rear...

I have 19x10 et51 with 275/30 Michelin PSS with no rubbing issues. Non P30/P31 and stock suspension.

I have P40's on order but the salesman asked me about offsets, which i am unsure about. He recommended 19 x 9.5 " with ET43 in the back on the Mich PSS 265/30's. Front they recommended 19x8,5 ET 40 with 245/35 PSS. Is this a good setup? Would appreciate a quick answer! Thank you in advance and sorry for dumbass noob questions

If stock is 9" et54 for the rear, then that setup is going to stick out an additional 17mm just with the rim. Plus whatever for the tires which is negligible. I'd grab a ruler and see if you like that setup.
