How long does it actually take to order

Just ordered a 2012 sedan. Dealer had January production slot. Stated if you want leather seats that would delay production for up to 8 weeks. I am only finding one C63 anywhere nearby. What is everyone's experience, is that normal for delivery? Does Mercedes usually take longer or shorter than estimated for the C63s?

Thanks

I ordered mine on Feb 1 2010 and took Delivery May 14 2010 (Canada) with no hold ups that I was told of.

Are they citing that reason because the seats are designo now? If so, that's incorrect. The typical additional lead time for designo is 4-6 weeks, but the designo leather in the C63 is a series production item and doesn't increase build time (unless there is a part shortage, which is unlikely).

Yes, The rep let me be there as he selected options on the MB ordering system to verify them. When he clicked to put the order in a flag kept coming up notifying that because the leather seats were a Designo option there could be a 6 to 8 week delay in the production. I hope that your right and this is just the default for any option that is considered Designo, and that just selecting leather seats wouldn't have that much of an effect on production time.

You'll be fine; the designo leather in the C63 is installed "on the line", unlike some designo interiors which are done through the Centre of Excellence/AMG Performance Studio (with the typical 4-6 week delay).
