With everyone so preoccupied with rubbing issue they forgot why the wider tires are put on the car in the first place:
Do wider tires provide noticeably better launching grip? Did 0-60 or 0-100 times improve at all?

Yes and no... wider tires will provide more grip given the same tread compound. Arguably, tread compound is as or more important than an extra 10-20mm of width. As an example, the Potenza RE-11 in a 255 would likely provide more grip than a Continental tire in a 275 due to compound. Ideally, go wider WITH a better compound.

Wow, DTC pads without R compounds? That will be a lot of brake. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Let us know what you think of these tires on track. I have these on the rear and wish they had a little more grip off the line.
