Did we ever get a dyno read on if there are any power gains?

Is that pretty much the only diff is the charcoal filter delete? Couldn't I just remove the filter and pull out the black plastic that the filter mounts to?

I don't see any difference other than the plastic holder for charcoal filter. Wouldn't it just be easier to remove that piece like dad did in the picture above rather than paying ~$400 for another set of air boxes?

From the pictures that I have seen, it appears that if you want to make your own ROW box, all you have to do is pull out the charcoals and dremel out the lattice that holds it in and remove some of the plastics that impedes airflow. I'm pretty sure that's what ppl are doing for their airbox mod.

Okay guys, let me be a little more specific. Look at the "horn" where the air enters. The stock horn is flat on top because of the charcoal filter and much shorter and the ROW is nice and oval and has a much larger entry area. I can't explain it better then that. Here's a close up of the ROW.

Now, go back up and look at the FLAT stock entry "horn".

I see it now. Thanks.

Would that change make that much of a difference in the way the car sounds and runs?

Didn't someone measure it earlier and find an actual size difference between the two? I know this has been discussed before.

Can you just cut that out as well to open up that airway?

There is a significant difference in the actual size of the opening of the ROW "horn" vs. stock and NO you cannot modify or cut the horn at all. Thats a precisely measured and metered hole that the MAFS are in.

On the dyno runs posted last time, I believe it was a 5hp difference and 12 lbs of torque.

Just picked up a set from James at ACG. Sounds a bit louder. Perhap some HP gains but I bought them because I like the stock look. I'm sure after a flash and some exhaust work they would yeild a bit more power.
