Recommendations for good driving roads in the New York Metro area

Wanted to know if anyone has any recommendations for good driving roads in the New York Metro area. I'm looking for roads that are within 100 miles of Manhattan, maybe a bit more if it's truly great.

I am getting a new 2012 c63 coupe next weekend and would love to take it for a "leisurely" drive sometime over the long weekend.

Not looking for deserted roads or anything, just some well paved roads with maybe a few stretches that I can open up the car a bit. Not that it can be controlled, but if there are any roads where police may be scarce, that would be a big plus. Won't get a chance to put in v1 before delivery.

For Straight aways i usually go on i87 near cross county and top out the car on that straight away. You could also go on 684 too. theres alot of straight aways also. As for turns i dont know many places off the top of my head. I usually just run into them lol

Head up to Bear Mt.... Palisades Pkwy is a pretty good drive. Also if you want to go a little further and its a pretty ride.... take 87 all the way up to New Paltz and take 55/44 through Minnewaska state park down to 209. Nice hills and a lot of aggressive turns. Another good country road is 52 out of Ellenville through Pine Bush and Walden.

I used to bring my sport bikes up from NC each year to ride these road when I would visit my parents.

Thanks for the info. Nice car btw. Where did you get the work done on your exterior? Been searching for someone here in the city or nearby. Got two recommendations for Manhattan Armor and 212motoring. Manhattan Armor was a little aggressive when I took my now sold '10 E63 and '11 G55. He wanted to do everything but the kitchen sink to the cars. Not really what I was looking for.

Thanks for the info. Bear Mt is definitely on my list of trips to make. Palisades is a great drive, but the cops are a little tricky there if I'm not mistaken. A few places for them to hide. I am going to look into the drive to New Paltz and 52 that sounds like fun.

May be a long ride but I'm sure you would enjoy a trip to High Point State Park. And it is almost NY.

I have no issues with Jersey, I am Jersey raised (essex county). Just did a quick google map search and it's not that far. I drive out to practically the end of LI every weekend and this appears to be about 30 minutes closer. I will investigate. Thanks for the tip
