Would you buy a C63 with a Performance Suspension package?

If Mercedes offered a Performance Suspension package that would lower the car 10-15mm and maybe include wider rear tires, how many of you would tick that box? How about an AMG performance plus suspension that would lower the car 25mm and some other tweaks? I know I would probably tick the performance suspension but I wouldn't need the plus suspension.

For the price that MB would charge for all that, I'd rather go with aftermarket stuff - any quality set of coilovers will net you ADJUSTABLE ride height and some even offer adjustable damping. Wider rear tires are also an easy click away at TireRack.

I hope they offer something like this on the next gen.

I'd much rather it come from the factory and it be covered under warranty then go aftermarket and not have it covered. I'll shell out the extra cash for the peace of mind that it's backed with a proper warranty.

So you think. M3's are being delivered on shipping blocks(Incompetence?) and you wouldn't believe the damage that was done. Of course, it's covered under warranty and fixed.

Aftermarket parts have a warranty too so long as you buy something reputable and of high quality, there's no reason at all to have to worry when something breaks. For the price that MB would charge for such a "Performance Pack+" you could probably go through 2 sets of KW V3s & 2 sets of wider rear tires.

This "pack" would not represent good value in my books.

They offered a performance suspension when the C63 first came out. Not a coilover, but lowered ride and I believe higher spring rates. Few bought it, and those that did complained about it. So, as Zephyr said, keep dreaming.

As far as coilovers, that is WAAAYYY to esoteric for most C63 buyers, who wouldn't know a crankshaft from a sparkplug. Hell, Mercedes can't get people to spring for an LSD, which should be required for these cars.

I have the P30 suspension pack in my 09, which came with the LSD, and love it! The car definitely sits a little lower than a non P30 car and drives way more solid through the corners (i drove a non P30 car before i bought mine). Ride is firm but we did buy performance cars didn't we?

I think the ideal would be the adjustable suspension in the E63/CLS63...but that's why they are more expensive

MBZ kinda messed this up. The P30/P31 package should have been the same. Better suspension, brakes, LSD, and more power. If I had a choice I'd get a P31 car and retro fit the other options. The other option is to get a P30 car and flash the ECU. Instead you can't get the complete set up even when ordering options seperately. I'm not a fan of the MBZ self leveling suspension. I've heard too many situation when they fail (unsually righ after your warranty ends) and it cost a fortune to fix them.

I ordered the other performance goodies on my 2010 and think I would have ordered performance suspension if it was offered. I kind of like a firm/harsh ride at least until my kidneys can't take it anymore.

Keep in mind that the suspension will be stiffer, then it already is. I don't think that, I would want it. To be honest, I really didn't think that I would live with the current suspension.

Current suspension is just right for the intended purpose of this car for me. Street/highway driving with an occasional track go around. Any harder and it would be the "bone breaker" of the '08's and it would destroy your car and cause squeaks all over in the first year after driving city streets...people did not like the stiffness of the early '08s...

However, like the BS, if you intend to get the car to track often and the sole purpose, then yes. Stiffer suspension or at least suspension options.
