Private Runway Side-by-Side Event in California Feb 25th!!!
#57
As for my runs, I got three in. First was against a 2008 E63 with long tubes, x-pipe, ROW air boxes, and OE Tuning tune. 40-160 I pulled about 3-4 cars. Considering the weight difference, I thought his car was very strong.
Next run was against a new 2012 CLS63 with AMS tune. He beat me, but I was pleasantly surprised to see my car keep within about 3 cars from 40-160. Earlier in the day that same 2012 CLS edged out a new Ferrari 458 Italia!
Last run was against the current N54 stock record holder in his 135i. Last week he ran 11.2 at 125mph at Famoso Raceway. He got in front early since we started from 50 and my car went right to 3rd gear, but from there on out it was pretty much even.
Keep in mind the location was at 1700ft elevation, so I've got to think I might even do a bit better against the turbo cars closer to sea level.
All-in-all it was a great event and I met a lot of nice guys. Unfortunately I didn't get a go pro in time, so I am anxiously awaiting the event organizers to post up all the video footage they took. Much thanks to Ryan and Jason from Shift Sector for putting on the event!

I left the event early around 1pm since I was sick with the flu, and by then JRCart had still not showed up.

Congrats, sounds like the event was a blast... minus the flu, of course. Did you happen to have a vbox in your C63 for your runs?

We had a vbox, but didn't use it since the high elevation would have adversely affected the times. It was also surprisingly warm, close to 80F.

I wonder what happened..... Hopefully someone like Dodger gets this SC some day. You know we would get results almost every weekend.

Glad to hear it was fun; sounds like it would be - be nice if someone'd host something like that around here.

I heard the Switzer GTR was the fastest over all. I only got one text from one of the organizers though.

It was a great event and a lot of fun. Several great cars. Will post up more details later with video's from the go pro. I only ran few times (since lines were long) against a modifed 640hp 911 turbo(996), Renntech SL65, Modified E63, AMS tuned CLS63.
I will say that I have much respect for the new CLS 63. I did race the new CLS63 w/AMS tune and damn it was a very close race. Several people said I won by a few inches but after reviewing the video I am not so sure. It didnt seem to be a very good run for the CLS63. I'll let you guys be the judge when I get a moment to upload videos.
That CLS63 was no joke
I will like to thank for Ryan and Jason for another great event and for making room for me.
*** I would like to note that I didnt stay the whole day which is another reason I didnt get that many runs in.

I saw a lot of GTRs losing their battles too. I think some of the fastest cars were the TTViper and Ford GTs. 850-1000HP. Here is a picture of the engine on the 1000HP Evo.

The CLS was stock except for the tune?
How did the SL65 do? What mods did it have. My SL is physically smaller than my 996TT although it weighs more.

The CLS63 and from what I have heard it seems like the way to go.
I was also interested in Carts 1000+ HP Weistec monster. That was a big let down considering he talked so much smack for weeks about this event.
How is your setup going?

Mine is on its typical slow assembly line. The body shop has screwed the pooch on the custom sideskirts and has to redo them or start over. 2 weeks shot to hell.
After that the ICE needs to get put in and I'm told it needs a touch up tune from Weistec to solve a couple of minor issues. Weistec has some things going that I'm not sure they want me to talk about and I have sketchy info at best anyway. But even with that, I find it hard to believe anyone is going to get 1000 RWHP out of the 6.3. You can only blow on it so hard. To get those numbers on Chevys etc you have to breath on internal components that just don't exist for the MB. If I was going to see one of those, I'd expect to see it from Brabus. Frankly, I think the computers and transmission isn't going to allow it. Could be wrong though.
If my C63 is ever done (we're coming up on the unbelievable 1 year mark soon) I hope to drive it for a day or so before I get rid of it.
I'm on to a SL65. And I'm not going over the top on it. I might not even 'chip' it. I'm going to get that set as my commuter car and then toddle back to my Porsches.

Not RWHP. Crank HP. I believe Carts last claim was 800 RWHP.
Good luck getting your car done. It will be nice to see someone get on the 1/4 mile track with some consistency. If thats not you then I hope whoever buys your car! LOL
SL65 is a very nice car but those TT's sure do heat up quick. Good luck with it.

My health is up and down. So I'm going to probably start giving cars to my kids. My plan is to give the C63 to my son and move some PCars to my daughters. I'm having trouble getting around to driving them all regularly. I just want to get them set the way they ought to all be first. I can't see well enough to need massive performance now. I really have no business driving at night anymore and avoid it if I can. This morning I started seeing some quirkiness in my right eye too. Not good.
