Well, it is what it is.

Anyway. Don't be too hard on this JRCart guy. He'll grow out of whatever demon he has eventually. We all do.

Jim

Not being hard on him. Just wanted some results from Weistec. He just happens to be attached to the product.

I believe people treat him like he treats others. If you don't talk crap people wont talk crap about you. Most of the time anyhow...

Someone dropped the ball apparently.

The car is done and has been done with the exception of some fine tuning, we made a few small changes for the top speed event and did not have time to get it over to the dyno so rather than risk breaking something we opted to wait and bring it to the dyno this week. I was not happy about it but in the grand scheme of things it was the correct decision. Aftrer talking to someone that was at the event and stated that the race surface border being described as dangerous I have no regrets.

I will be running at Fontana on Saturdays test & tune, if anyone want to head out feel welcome. I will reconfirm with everyone on Friday that we a go and again when we are on our way to the track.
Jim,

Just skip Fontana and come out to Atco in March with us east coast guys and some negative DA.

I wonder what happened..... Hopefully someone like Dodger gets this SC some day. You know we would get results almost every weekend.
Agreed...That's the way it oughta' be.
Probably Wesitec wasn't 100% complete on the car? Who knows.
Maybe JRcart could chime in and give us the details.

This is the problem with pushing things past the envelope. It stops being a car and becomes a project owned by the modifications. Nothing wrong with that at all. Its just that there comes a point when you have this thing that used to be a car that you used to be able to drive. All for the pursuit of a number that can be reproduced occasionally.

I've had more than one car there before. It stopped being fun.

So they were advertising 5-10 runs each. How did you guys get limited to 3 or so? Did they abandon discipline and oversell it?

Videos

Alright guys here are the videos

Here is my run against the modded Porsche 640hp

http://youtu.be/Kl5sHQk5eDY

and my run against Renntech SL65

http://youtu.be/l4T0X_MAxXs

run against modded E63 but had some trouble with Gopro cam

http://youtu.be/x7hIq6HILFY

and finally my run against the infamous CLS63.....I could tell you that once I hit about 130 mph he was reeling me in big time. Fortunately for me we were running out of runway or else he wouldve keep on pulling. This CLS had some major top end.

http://youtu.be/9Ig0vIvdnn8

Here is a pic of my race with CLS63 that was taken by a photograhper by the end of the runway. You can see how close it was near the end while hitting roughly around 150mph

To be honest yes the lines were a little long at this event but this is their first airstrip event for Shift S3ctor which came out great. I can only imagine the amount of time and effort that both Ryan and Jason put in to get this type of event going. Not only that, this is the only airstrip event that I am of aware of in the States let alone California. You have to give credit where credit is due. I dont know about you guys but I have been dying for years wanting to attend a side-by-side run event like this ever since those M5Boards videos starting popping up years back. I got 4 runs in but was mainly because I left 3 hours before the event ended. I am sure Shift S3ctors event will only get better and I am sure for those that attended this event are very pleased with the way it turned out.

Sounds great. I'd like to come out as a spectator next time. Did they have bikes?

I plan on attending either an Atco or MIR event in March. I don't want to skip Fontana becuase I want the guys from Weistec to be present and be close to their shop should any problems arise. I don't anticipate any problems but it just makes more sense to shake it down out here in California before hauling half way across the country back home to Chicago or all the way across the country out to the east coast. I know there a ton of quicker tracks than Fontana but making a few shakedown passes out here makes the most sense.

i think it's pretty hard to say that someone dropped the ball on a vehicle that is pretty much full of one-off parts . i understand that you are anxious to get the car up and running but if i was building this project , i wouldn't register for a damn thing until the car was actually ready to go

I remember being excoriated for being miffed that things were taking too long on my car. And I had a SEMA deadline to make. Not some fairly unstructured low level event.

Funny how that goes.

Understood. Makes sense to have Weistec present.

You're more than welcome to attend the Atco event in March. dodger is putting something together. It would be awesome to see the car in the flesh and just bs with a bunch of car guys.

No bikes signed up for event but not sure if Shift-S3ctor excluded them.

All things considered, the insurance would have probably been prohibitive. Waivers or not.

I think Fontana just got shut down due to noise compliants, so today's drag event was cancelled. At least that's what their website shows.

Jim just can't get a break out here!
