Anyone have a paint code for that SLS color?
And on page 1 - when you look at the yellow caliper its paint is so thick and glossy looking compared to the other. Is that powder coated?

looks good! but having the pistons painted as well is going to cause a problem no?
I would've thought they would be masked off before the paint happens.

I see a guy driving around my town with a totally blacked out BMW 1 series and yellow calipers....i think it looks good...but the thing about black cars with yellow calipers is that people might think you're a Steelers fan.
Anyway, from the pics you posted, I liked orange the most....that's a really sick orange.

Thanks for the compliments guys.
The color is called pearlescent orange. It was a special color mix the shop came up with after we discussed what I was looking for.
Wait until I post a pic of the car.

And that is totally unacceptable. That's a beautiful orange though and I can't wait to see them on the car. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it all cost to get them painted? Did you take the calipers off yourself and bring them to the shop?

My car was there for an Agency Power exhaust install too. I also had my chrome trim painted gloss black, the front grille and trunk Mercedes star painted flat black and the the side 6.3 badges flat black too. And finally I had my wheels powder coated flat black to finish off the look.
Originally, I thought I was charged $800 for the caliper work but after a closer look at the receipt it appears I was discounted $120 from the original charge for a total of $680.
Pictures to follow.

The shop removed them and performed a 3 stage painting process.

glad you decided to have them professionally done instead of doing it yourself. it looks like they may have powdercoated them. i thought thats the only way they actually did them, but maybe they did it some other way. because $800 is very cheap for powdercoating 4 calipers.
This is what the receipt states:
Refinished front and rear brake calipers in 3-stage pearl. Removed, disassembled, sealed and taped off sensitive areas for refinishing process. Refinished calipers in multi-step process, reapplied logo in 1250 black and final coating with clear. Includes brake fluid, drain, refill and bleed.

When we discussed the process he told me they would remove, sandblast and paint them in a 3 step process.
This is what the receipt states:
I'm bringing the car back to him on Tuesday to paint the door handles gloss black and to finish the wiring on the Agency Power exhaust. I'll confirm the process but I'm pretty sure it was paint. Regardless, the calipers look unbelievable on the car. I'm glad I picked orange.

yeah maybe it was another method they used. i know they powdercoated mine cause its supposed to be the toughest, more resistant to heat and scrapes than paint. mine look unbelievable as well, even though m5 calipers are kind of ugly compared to AMG's.
they looked identical to factory powdercoated calipers.
but there were actually 16 pieces they had to disassemble and powdercoat. altogether it cost me over 2800 dollars. including new seals - $1100

It looks like painted masking tape to me. Petro - that looks fantastic...makes me think more seriously about doing my calipers.

My regular camera took a dump on me so here is an Iphone picture. Excuse the car for being dirty, I was at the track this weekend.
I may tint the windows and drop the car next.
I'll clean the car properly and use a better camera next time. Can anyone recommend a decent point and shoot?

looks good but im not sure bright colored calipers on an otherwise blacked out/murdered theme is working...
it worked on my m5 cause the calipers were already black....
sorry not to hijack your thread...
regardless after you do the drop it will look crazy.
