Y No oil change at 2000km
Hi guys
i was wondering why MB does not do an oil change after first 2000km (break in). I had an M3 before my 63 and i had to take in for the oil change after break in. any comments?

I believe it's because te motor is pre-broken in from the factory. (engine dyno). It's everything else that needs to be broken in such as trans., diff etc.. I think that's also the reason our break in period is relatively short at 1k miles or 1620 km.

there are differences of opinion on this board about this subject. some will say that they have experienced alot of metal shavings in the oil filter on the first oil change and others will say....thats what an oil filter is for.
i personally am at 3000 miles on my new c63 and im not planning on getting an oil change as of now. but, im really busy right now traveling and stuff and i may get an oil change sometime between now and 10,000 miles if its convenient. at about $250, peace of mind for that much on an oil change is worth it.
so, basically, it comes down to weather you trust your instincts or mercedes benz's recommendations.
cheers

Did my first change at 1k miles. Doing my first year service A. Odom is at 5900. My technician trolled me by telling me to come to the lift to look under it. He then tells me I already need new rears.
